Very interesting! Some the same things could also be said about the divide between the gay Left and gay conservetives.

While I appreciate the background on the purported author of this "letter," we are not given even one citation to document it's authenticity.

So, in reality, this could be a piece of fiction as far as any of us know.

MattieMich, please provide cites for future threads. Citing your source is a requirement in CE&P.
 
The addition of the citation is welcomed, and I think provides more legitimacy to your thread. I'm not sure where you got the idea that this was a right or left issue; it was an issue of poor citation of your source.

To be fair, not all sources are available online. Sometimes an email has been the source of a thread, and those should be cited as "received via email."

Various books and magazines which we read may not have an online version, and should be cited as title of book, author, and publisher and year of date. With magazines cite the title of the magazine, along with the issue number and article name.

Proper source citation is a vital element in keeping the forum legitimate. This is a debate forum and one should stand ready to defend their viewpoint. If on the other hand someone has to spend time defending their source because of improper citation, it detracts from the original intent of the poster ... which is what happened here.

So, having cleared up this issue, let's once again focus on the topic at hand.

Maybe Mr. Farrow should forget the race of the questioners and and not assume their motives (even if his assumptions are correct) and simply answer the question honestly and let others make of it what they will. What value is any of his responses if they are constantly couched in assumptions about the motives of his readers?

I know kids that hardly stood a chance in life, that had very limited choices, but Condi and Farrow have had choices and are responsible for them.

Farrow had a choice of responding to his audience honestly or not. It is too bad that he is crippled by race consciousness, but that is the choice he made.
