Re: June 18th: Debbie Reynolds Hollywood memorablia auction

Loved looking at the catalog, a lot of memories. Old Hollywood had, class, glamor, and faces. We will never see it again.

Would love to have it all. My favorites, Harold Lloyd's suit, love him. Audrey Hepburn's dress from My Fair Lady. The Laurel and Hardy suits, and Charlies Chaplin's hat.

What a remarkable collection. It's sad that it will all be scattered to the wind.

If I had the money, I'd get the following:

Charlie Chaplan's Bowler
Judy Garland's Dorthy dress
Gene Kelly & Frank Sinatra's cracker jacks
1953 MG TD
Charlton Heston's Ben-Hur tunic & cape
Elizabeth Taylor's headdress and crown from Cleopatra
Robert Duvall's Lt Col Kilgore coat & hat

There is a free download of the 396 page auction catalog here:

There are costumes you recognize, sets, memorabilia, props and galore. I was surprised of all the priceless memorabilia she collected from 20th Century Fox and MGM through the years, and of all the items I recognized.

Hearing on the news now. Debbie Reynolds the mother of recently deceased Carrie Fisher died of a stroke today. Unbelievable....

yeah this is like the stuff of epic Greek Tragedy ---deep psychology---they had a weird relationship but in there later life were very close and I think even lived together---RIP

Her son, Todd Fisher, said Reynolds died Wednesday.

"She's now with Carrie and we're all heartbroken," Fisher said from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where his mother was taken by ambulance earlier Wednesday.

He said the stress of his sister's death on Tuesday "was too much" for Reynolds. Carrie Fisher, who was 60, had been hospitalized since Friday.

"She said, 'I want to be with Carrie,'" her son said. "And then she was gone."

I know from the deaths of my grandmother and her sister (my great aunt) within days (my aunt) and weeks (my grandmother) of my uncle's and grandfather's passing, that when they want to go, they will go. Their lives ended when their husbands died.

Very sad, but Debbie went in her own time to be with a daughter she did not want to be alone, even in death.

Very sad to just see this on my home page. Loved her in "Singin' In the Rain". I read that she was just 17. Can that be right??

they did an acclaimed documentary this year about their turbulent relationship and it will be on HBO in May---now that they are both dead should have a lot of interest.

OMG!!!!! Unreal. And 2016 ain't over yet. Celebrities take cover.

Just last week I watched Debbie Reynolds in Holiday Inn. The movie where the song White Christmas first appeared.

This is all just too sad. What a horrible year.

Reynolds was in her 80's, so she lived a good long life, about the average for an American woman now. The death is certainly sad on top of her daughter's passing.

She was a bright star in the entertainment business. All Texas charm.

Rest in peace, Ms. Reynolds.

Last month Carrie did an interview on NPR's "Fresh Air" (npr.org) to talk about her life and new book "The Princess Diarist" that I heard, and she was really upbeat and funny. Debbie had recently had 2 strokes and pneumonia and nearly died, Carrie was worried she wouldn't make it. But Debbie made a full recovery, aside from walking a little slower, but she had regained full speech and was doing fine. It's so sad that just a month later Carrie is the one to die. They lived on the same street and were very close. I had a gut feeling that Carrie's death would be too much for Debbie, but the very next day? Some might say it's a double tragedy, but to me they were meant to be together. On a bright note, if you have yet to see Carrie's movie "Wishful Drinking" where she tells her life story to a live audience, go get the dvd, or maybe it's on youtube? You will laugh so hard you'll forget to be sad, which I have a feeling is the way Carrie & Debbie would want it.

What an awful year.

So sad but sadder are the ass hole millennials who istead of saying rest in peace or how sad or how I loved her work they say "fuck 2016 I can not believe so many people are dyeing".
When you lose someone you love or care about whether they are a baby or 120 it is sad. 160 people die every minute life is happy and sad but ass hole remarks are just that!
