What say ye? Are you in favor of Republicans who claim they are ready to vote against any rise in the debt ceiling? How about a complete government shutdown? What do you think would happen if these things came to pass? Will it happen? Would you be happy/sad/indifferent?

I fear the Tea Party crazies in Congress are insane enough to block the rise in the debt ceiling.

^Good point. Bet the dems won't be making that argument this time.

Because Obama hasn't been wrong before.

We have to raise it.

It's like some loser that gets into hock up to his eyeballs and keeps asking the credit card companies to keep increasing his limit. At some point you have to refuse to go along with this madness.

They should allow the debt to increase only enough to cover the obligations we have coming due. You can't screw with the country's credit rating. But any more debt to finance Obama's spending spree has to be cut off.

If the dems and Obama stamp their feet and throw a tantrum, let the government shut down until they grow up and learn to behave like responsible adults. And when it reopens, make sure those who didn't work, don't get paid not like last time. We're broke and can't keep spending money we don't have.

Don't raise it.

It will be fun for the rest of the world to watch how the US deals with a fiscal crisis.

I'm sure we'll all get a beating on the markets because of it, but truly, it would be entertaining to see a different approach then automatically raising the limits being used, given the austerity budgeting that the rest of us are having to live with.

Mark my words though. The moment this threatens military spending, all bets are off. The debt ceiling will always keep going higher to keep these industries in every district humming.

Frankly, I've given up on the USA doing the right thing as of a couple of weeks ago. I'd love to see the Republicans refuse to raise the debt ceiling, as well as shutdown the government. The children who makeup America's electorate are retards, and can't fathom that if they put their hand on a hot oven burner they are going to be burned... BADLY. It's time they are taught that lesson the hard way.

Let the Dittoheads, and Becksters all see what their nonsense brings. I say shut it all down, and default on the debt. This is going to mean massive pain for everyone in America, but at this point you need to teach these idiots a lesson so the adults can once again regain the conversation.

Massive pain is coming, regardless of if the debt ceiling is raised or not. You'd do well to wrap your head around that fact.

You're referring to the Air America crowd that has buried us all beneath another $3,000,000,000,000 in debt over the last two years. Hardly adults.

Molten doesn't care; he'll just fly off to another country and laugh at how all the poor people are suffering and starving while he enjoys his wealth.

I didn't vote; the poll is amazingly limited in both "who I am" options, and in what to do options.

If I were in Congress, I'd propose raising the limit by ten percent less than what the present budget claims is needed.
