Buy some regular-grind coffee and mix them half-and-half. That's what I do. You get the flavour of coffee with half the caffeine.

Decaf coffee is queer, and not the good kind of queer. Just like decaf Coke, or decaf Mtn Dew, or just like fat free ice cream. For those with special dietary restrictions, I suppose you have every right to consume these type products. But they are all still very queer.

I've tried a number of decaf coffees and have yet to find one that is any good.

I gave up a while ago

It's gotta be the real thing or nothing.

Actually gsdx, since a full decaf has approximately 1/10 the amount of caffeine as a normal coffee, if you add half normal coffee, it will be considerably more caffeinated than a full decaf -- about 11/20ths caffeine.

Picking nits now, are we?

I said 'half-caf' because it's a helluva lot easier to type than 'eleven-twentieths-caf'.

If you want to quibble over 5% caffeine, then you go right ahead and have fun.

Decaf coffee is just regular coffee that has gone through a process to remove most of the caffeine. If it tastes that off to you it is all in your head.

You may be a "super taster" I think they have extra taste buds.

5. Does caffeine have a taste?

In its natural form, yes. In a word: bitter. Although the caffeine content itself typically can’t be tasted in a beverage, it is often used as a flavoring agent in soft drinks. Can you taste the difference between caffeinated and non-caffeinated versions of the same soda? Decaffeinated coffee is typically made from beans of inferior quality so that may account for the difference in quality of taste, but many people notice a significant difference in flavor between caffeinated and non-caffeinated soda so, yes, caffeine may be a factor in taste. Then again, it could be all psychological. Do a blind taste test and see if you notice a difference.

Then what happens if we drink a Miller Lite beer while masturbating???

Decaf is not even real. It is just like a coffee bean with no flavor. Decaf espresso is the worst. It is just... bad. I hate it. I never ever will drink it again.

We buy the Eight O'Clock 50% decaf blend from A&P.We grind it in the store.Thats the closest I can find to a decent cup of coffee at home. Now I drink massive amounts of tea.Tea don't seem to rattle me like coffee does though.

tea is my cup of tea. i realized coffee/caffeine makes me anxious, panicky, pissy, and down right addicted.

kombucha is my stimulant of choice!

My palate was trained at an early age to require coffee with dessert... I simply cannot eat something rich and sweet without coffee. But now I'm an old curmudgeon crumbling around the edges and cannot have caffeine after noon or I won't sleep. So do I give up dessert? Like hell!

I find that if I get French roast decaf and brew it really really strong, the decaffiness is sort of overwhelmed by the French-roastiness. The first sip always tastes like garden soil, but after that it's smooth sailing; and since I usually only have it with dessert, the bitter taste is offset by the sweet.

One of the common misconceptions about decaf coffee is that it contains no caffeine, which isn't true. In the United States, the FDA requires that in order to label coffee as "decaffeinated" that coffee must have had its caffeine level reduced by no less than 97.5 percent. That equates to about 2-4mgs of caffeine per cup. Personally I cannot drink it because of the taste. That and I will NEVER put cream in my coffee.

My point was that if she wants decaf coffee, doing a half/half mix will still mean drinking a good amount of caffeine.

You don't read everything, do you? And what you do read, you wark what was written to suit your fancies.

I'm a coffee drinker.

I'm also wise enough to know that too much of a good thing is no good, so I try to stop at one cup in the morning.

However, sometimes I just want the TASTE of coffee, and not the caffeine.

Note the red part above. It doesn't mean she wants to cut out caffeine entirely. She enjoys her regular, fully-caffeinated cup of coffee in the morning and then tries to resist caffeine the rest of the day. How? By buying decaf instead. But she hates the taste and sees an entire tin of expensive decaf coffee going to waste.

I had a solution for her.

My solution was based upon experience. I, too, felt the need to cut back on caffeine quite some time ago, but brewed decaf tasted horrible and half-caf was as expensive as the decaf. My solution? Rather than tossing out the expensive decaf, I bought a tin of regular grind and mixed the two.

As a result, I ended up with 2 tins of half-caf (Oh, I beg your pardon. . . 11/20ths caf. Mustn't forget that 5%.) which tasted much better than the decaf alone still get the 'caffeine kick' I craved, and I could drink 4 cups whilst imbibing the caffeine of 2 cups of coffee. . . plus the extra 10% of course. Mustn't forget that 11/20ths times 2. ..|

I never understood coffee. I put the black shit in the water and drank it, it didn't taste bad but it never helped me stay away like it does for TV people so I threw it away. I've only ever had about 6 cups of coffee.
