Decoration : What is your most proudly displayed piece?

Interesting question. We have collected artworks and bibelots over 50 plus years...but at the moment...we just have had framed, two hand crocheted patches celebrating Ukraine, two very beautiful pieces of Tibetan necklaces from a benefit auction and a painting from one of my favourite artists.

And I love them all so much right this minute.

We don't actually permanently display or showcase any piece....some are rotated for holiday or seasonal occasions....some are always at eye level for our cats...I am looking at a painting right now on the wall behind my laptop that we bought this past year that celebrates a dog on a road that we have travelled for the last 15 years who sits and waits for his (totally undeserving) people and who died a few moths ago....but it is a wonderfully chaotic and wholly original piece and it makes me feel good/sad every day.

We have a set of the Ukraine Snake Island 'Fuck you' stamps on the way that will go directly into framing when they arrive and I suspect these will be foremost in my vision.

Art is dynamic. I have cupboards full of things that mean something to us at different times of our lives or our year and am so fortunate to have a niece who is totally the same way to my surprise.

If we love it, we buy it and have it visible in our lives one way or another.

I’ll actually answer the question this time. I’ve got a small collection of salt and pepper shakers on display in the kitchen. I’m not really big on knick knacks so I don’t really collect anything else.

Either

1) An autograph of Revolutionary War General William Heath
2) My University of Michigan FAB 5 poster autographed by all 5 players

Great displays.

Nice. I just hung a sign poster for the documentary my favorite band had done about themselves.

This meat. Can't post it in HT though.

Since it is displayed does that mean it doesn't get used much?

I have kept pretty much the same things up since I became an adult, maybe adding a piece or two. I am now taking most of it down and displaying stuff I have had for years and love. I should have did it years ago.

I love that. I have nude works all over.

Japanese text? Yup, highly likely. I'll repost it later when I get home.

I also have 4 limited edition Tom Of Finland prints and a Luis Royo piece but they are in storage until I get my own permanent place to live.
