a 90s-era prominent songbird you'd know her if i said her name did a cover of whitney houston's version of dolly parton's "i will always love you." it's somewhere on one of my 60,000 hard drives of music (a title search for this many files would take months ](*,)). it was someone a la miki howard or regina belle. i'm going to kick myself if i can't find it. per chance one of you gals might be able to help a sista out? :bartshock

point of contention she isn't some obscure niche artist it's a mainstream singer listeners of that era will know by name and be like "oh yeah her"

Are you making me a special mixtape cuz girl you know that’s my favorite song ever.

I confess that I'm unfamiliar with any other versions of the song. But the Wikipedia article on the song states that Linda Ronstadt, Amber Riley, LeAnn Rimes, and Sarah Washington recorded it. Hope this helps.

This is where it gets kind of deep state-y cuz I've searched all these lists of covers and her name doesn't appear on any of them! (Someone trying to hide something?) she was just left of pop music so her absence isn't surprising.
