lawl, I'm no spelling/grammar nazi (except towards myself), but I am genuinely surprised by how often I see that mistake made everywhere, not just on gay forums/dating websites. It's more interesting to me than annoying.

oooh don't forget my favourite...

Loser vs looser ....

Loser is what you are if you spell loser with an extra o.

Looser is what you are after you have sex.

Whoops! !oops! I guess I've been spelling it wrong all this time.

Without a doubt one of the most common misspellings on gay forum and dating websites is:

"Definitely" spelled "Definately!" This is mindnumbing! Stop trying to sound out the word, guys, when spelling it.

:grrr:
Try to be an administrator of the site so you can stop this mistake

'Cum' instead of 'come' .... gee that riles me!

I have seen definately SO often that I used to think this was the right way to spell it :(

oh ha, yeah that pisses me off so much. But then I don't want to seem like a jerk and point it out......

I often forget the "e" in words like definitly.

I'm affected by how this has effected you or visa versa I can never figure which one to use where.

We have a sign at work on the bananas saying that the quality it not 'effected'. There is this shopper who comes in every week and takes the sign down or gets a marker and changes it to 'affected'.

So fucking annoying.

I like this shopper person.

[-X It's annoying when he complains like its out fault it is spelt wrong even though we have no control over what is written on the signs, we just print them out.

I've been given a lecture of the spelling of it so many times. LOL.

I've always been a stickler for correct spelling then recently discovered, to my horror, that I've been spelling the word "exaggerate" incorrectly all my life! I've always spelt it with two r's instead of two g's, until a friend pointed the error out to me a few weeks ago. I was shocked, to say the least ... couldn't believe I'd gone 55 years without noticing the blunder. ](*,)

I'm with the shopper. ..| It's "So fucking annoying" to see errors in spelling on public signs! :( If you know it's spelt incorrectly, take the sign down and fix it.

Well just make sure the spelling is correct next time you put the sign up and you won't have to put up with the irate shopper! :p

I don't think the Definitely/Definately error is as common as one of my pet hates, Their instead of They're.

AAAAGGGGHHHHHH :mad::mad::mad:

But then that's a grammar thing as opposed to spelling. So I'll hop off my hobby horse and take a break. :)

well since we're confessing our grammatical sins.. hold on to your seats, fellas.

Nescessary,
i before e, is the devil
ful and not full on word endings
alot, I often find myself using the backspace key, in order to change this to a lot.
This happens alot.

I've even gone so far as to purposefully think of a synonym to avoid spelling a tricky word.

And ozguy, I don't care what you say. elbow and cello rhyme.

You owe me, and until you pay what you owe?! It is on.
