It should shock no one that Democrats in Massachusetts were leading a rally for the far-left union members, but the heated rhetoric from Congressman Capuano promoting violence, was unfortunately received with cheers from the crowd.

"I’m proud to be here with people who understand that it’s more than just sending an email to get you going. Every once and awhile you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary."

Apparently the President's recent calls for civility have fallen on deaf ears.

Ironically, here's what the Congressman said January 9.
"Everybody knows the last couple of years there’s been an intentional increase in the degree of heat in political discourse,” he said. “If nothing else good comes out of this, I’m hoping it causes people to reconsider how they deal with things."

So he decried violent political rhetoric after last month’s shooting, yet used some belligerent language of his own at the union rally. Hypocritical much, Congressman?

Yet you have no problem with Glen Beck spewing violent rhetoric with his insane conspiracy theories and idealogues like Coulter and Malkin calling for a civil "war" to rid the country of liberals. That's the height of hypocrisy. Want to see rightwing hate rhetoric in action? Watch Hannity any day of the week or read the facts on the Koch Brothers funding Walkers little dictatorship bent on union busting.

he's from Sommerville

I guess you have to go there to get it. Its a very poor area between boston and the sea. Just them and logan in that stretch of real estate.

That is not surprising that he would say that. He probably owes the unions his job. He needs them to stay strong.

I think he may be referring to the fact that there is always an expectation that the Governor will turn the troops and the dogs loose on the protesters.

This seems to happen in situations like these where reactionary leaders try to use blunt force.

I'm surprised that LaikaNYC even tries to come up with a thread that will not be disssed.

^ It isn't about that.

It isn't even about convincing us.

It is all about noise. Usually it happens when there is something about to break that will look bad for the conservatives.

Yes, Laika, it is a stupid thing for that man to stay. I can agree with that. He shouldn't have said it.

However, you have yet to have any serious discussion on this issue at all. You pick and choose these outlier details, then run away when anyone questions you on a point you made or detail you left out. I've called you out multiple times on some incorrect statements you've made, and you've never once addressed them.

You criticize everyone else here for the things you say, yet you never take responsibility for your own words.

Which statements here are incorrect? This is about the Congressman's hypocrisy, not to mention his heated rhetoric

If he pointed them out you wouldn't give a cogent answer anyway so why should he waste time with it in your thread. You are going to attack him and run. Its what you do.

Notice, there are quite a few respected conservatives here. They answer questions and discuss issues. We may not all agree, but that isn't what earns respect here... its personal conduct and respect for the other posters that earns respect here.

Have a real conversation or stop bogging us down.

I can't imagine what would have happened if a Republican said the same thing. Some of you would be humming a very different tune. But instead all I'm seeing is deflecting away from the topic at hand.

I post on a few different forums, and as if by clockwork, all the America Haters on the right have posted this. They all have the same feigned outrage..

Fuck em and feed em fish heads. Rat bastards..

Congressman Capuano's comments were stupid and uncalled for. But if you are being intellectually honest, Laika, you'd be consistent.

The Tea Party got blamed for Congressman Giffords having been shot. They did say some stupid things along the way, but as it turned out they had no bearing on Loughner's actions. But we recognize them having said dumb things and move along. We should simply all agree that this congressman said something stupid and move along as well.

Does this qualify as political hypocrisy? Yeah, but they're all pretty much hypocrites, so what?

We've all had our say for better or worse, time to close this thread.
