Hehehe, yes, everyone in Portland knows about Sam Adams. He almost lost his elected position when it came out before becoming mayor that he was having sex with a 17 year-old named Beau Breedlove (yes, that's his real name). The "official" response is that they "waited" until Beau was 18. However, everyone in Portland knows the kid was just 17 when Sam was tapping that.

Rush Limbaugh's favorite hangout, too! I've heard some allegations that he may have been banging underage boys, BUT I DON'T ATTRIBUTE IT TO ANYTHING MORE THAN AN INTERNET URBAN LEGEND. With the actual evidence unknown, people can dream up whatever they wish.

Jack, I agree with you! And, yes, that includes Charles Rangel.

However, humans are incapable of separating the relatively benign (like, perhaps, somebody cheated only twice...got caught...and the married couple have entirely gotten past it and mended it up), and malicious/destructive cheating. I would NOT want to be the one responsible for determining where the "line" is, which determines whether the affair(s) cause that person to be unfit for office.

The system that we currently have - where in disgrace the politician may lose the next election or, in more egregious circumstances which may cause him/her to be an ineffective public servant, resign - does present at least some consequences.
