Democratic State Sen. Dave Hansen Wins First Wisconsin Recall Election

no republican has won an election in this nation since the Ryan Budget plan was announced.

vacancies and recalls. All democratic wins.

The GOP can't win without the senior vote.

In all fairness, it wasn't like the Rep. candidate had any chance considering that Hansen was an incumbent, and the Rep was a complete loser.

The elections that actually matter will be those of the 6 republicans.

and NY-26?

and the california seat that was filled last week? or all six dems going on to the election?

the GOP is at 21 percent approval ratings.. think about that.

The GOP in congress is MORE hated than george DUBYA bush on the day he left office at 23 percent.

These idiots actually figured out a way to make the GOP LESS POPULAR than Bush did.

Quite an achievement. oh yeah.

These bonehead GOP fools are not going to be winning anything soon.

They're actually slightly higher than in 2008, but that's a moot point.

The point I was trying to make, that went right over your head, is that this election was nothing. It doesn't mean anything, it doesn't change anything, and it doesn't have any significance whatsoever. The ones that actually matter are still to come.

Actually, JB3, one thing that might be significant is whether or not there was a swing since the last election. Did the Democrat win by more votes or fewer votes? I myself don't know; I'll have to look it up.

yoiu are living in a deliberately ignorant little world there, JB. You are REALLY unprepared for the backlash against the GOP that is about to happen.

The rabid right has gone too far too many times, and they are once again about to be sent out to the wood shed.

I am not convinced that the dems will keep the whitehouse, but I AM convinced the GOP will be thrown out of the house of reps and lose seats in the senate. They are allowing these nutty teabager congressmen to set their agenda, and these guys have NO legislative history, have no political instincts, and could care less about the nation, the GOP, or thier fellow americans.

The GOP THOUGHT is was going to use the teabaggers to get ahead, but that was short lived. The GOP controls ONE chamber of ONE branch and it has virtually ground the nation to a halt. That woudl be because the Teabaggers only vote yes to crazy shit that the senate and the president will never sign onto. Anything that Boehner calls to a vote, loses... a slapdown to be sure, and their reasoning cant be more plain, they want to get rid of the speaker. Now they are extremists who seek to do america harm.

Americans have noticed. The tea party shine is off the penny of the GOP and all thats left is cheap copper and an irrational hate for the president.

You are young.

You will learn.

... and Ayn Rand sucks too.

I predict all Democratic victories in the Wisconsin recall elections. The GOP is hated and despised like you wouldn't believe there. My friends in Madison and Milwaukee who always used to be apolitical now have become enthusiastic Democrats because of Walker's overreaching. Last time I spoke with a friend who lives in Madison all she could talk about was Scott Walker and what a dictator he is and how he sold out the state to the Koch brothers. This came from someone who never paid attention to politics before.

The overreaching of the GOP has energized the Democrats and the GOP is aware of it. That's why they're desperately trying to make it harder to vote in many states, Wisconsin included with all the new rules and guidelines. It won't work.

I have a dream... Russ Feingold for Governor of Wisconsin - 2012. :D

I agree. I have not heard that he wants it, though. Look at what happened to Obama. He got this handfull of shit from Dubya and his rubber stamp congress, and now they are actively pretending that the GOP had NO hand in the mess we are in.

The same policies they are trying to shove down america's throats right now is the same thing that got us in this place.

Polls indicate that while the public has caught on, the GOP has not.

I too predict the democratic victories. Recalls rarely get going unless there is enough support to get rid of the target. Its really just a matter of waiting for them to go, one at a time.

The GOP is bottoming out, and they are desperately trying to regain power through any means available, even if they are immoral or illegal.

SAD SAD stuff.

Oh I have no doubt that republicans and the tea party freaks are going to get their asses handed to them in the next election. (and they deserve it) What I was trying to say is that the election of Dave Hansen doesn't mean anything because there was never any chance whatsoever that his opponent would have won. There's literally NOTHING to be taken away from this particular election.

The reason he could never have son is that he and his cronies broke the law and went against the will of the people.

pure and simple. I have no doubt that these crack asses will see their day in court for abuse of office, amongst so many other charges.

I have a feeling that whomever takes over for walker after his happy ass is thrown in the gutter, a place he frequently rolls around in.

He could never have won because he doesn't pay his taxes and has engaged in domestic abuse. Add the Walker scene on top of that... the amazing thing is that he got more than 5% of the vote.

I hope this is a consequence for the obstructionism practiced by the GOP. This country can't solve its problems when there is a party that bets on the other party failing.

I think this ultimately will be the downfall of the GOP with independents. They won't vote for a party that says they stand for deficit reduction (when they're not in power I might add) and when the president proposes a plan that exceeds what they want, the play hardball.
