Dems to Fox: No thanks!

I dare one of the Dems to debate on the 700 club. I would pay to see that.

Yeah, it would sure take the winds out of the sails of those Republicans and their supporters about how "Un-Christian" those "Godless Democrats" are.

For me personally, I don't contribute to organizations that preach hate, so unless it remained free I'd have to catch FOX News so as to know what to think.

The primaries are mostly partisan affairs. Catching the base will be easy once they rally behind one candidate. Entertaining all media outlets to reach all possible voters is the only way to get all swing votes. I hope they learn and when the primaries are over hit everywhere. Other than that they can trash each other anywhere they feel like it. If they feel smug about their chances then by 2008 the margin will be entirely too close and we will be in the Supreme court again deciding the future of the nation.

Well, if memory serves, it was FOX News that called the election back in 2000. Hours before all the votes were in. ..|

Maybe you have a point there.

But to them,Fox is really evil....the terrorist sponsoring nations just wayward and misunderstood.

this is such a warping of what we know to be true that it astounds me

standard republican slander.... if you criticize anything THEY believe in then you are soft on terrorism.

Its not very often i feel truly saddened by someone's behavior here, but in this case, i am honestly dumbstruck.

i have lost most if not all respect for you

Democrats should agree to a debate on Fox News when the republicans agree to a debate on The Daily Show/The Colbert Report.

Actually, that isn't a fair comparison since the latter two have actual credibility.

Good point.

:=D:

what the republicans and foxheads here are not seeing is that theres a specific reason why politicians are not required to talk to a specific news agency.

that is because the politicians are allowed to decide who has the ethics and standards required to be a trustworthy media source

if the news outlet loses the confidence of the pols it is the problem of the outlet, and any falderall saying that they should talk to them is just unrealistic

The quote was:
After all, the Republicans, the "big tent" party, hasn't got ONE black elected Congressman or Senator. Not one.

You can put different stipulations on it afterward for your own benefit but the statement was a lie not a fact as previously reported.

i dont see the discrepancy

there are no currently serving republican african american senators

that is a real statement on the way the people of the party view people and what their values are as a group

aflie didnt change anything

are you sure you arent reading more into what he said than is there? are we parsing words? do we know what the meaning of is is ?

Just pointing out when people say non-truthful and then try to represent them as facts due to calculation or ignorance, I prefer the truth and will always state it.

As far as debate, if it is off Fox, like it or hate it they influence a large number of people based simply upon their ratings. You can ravenously disagree with the channel and their slant but you can not argue that fact. Excluding those folks means you run the risk of an extremely close race. That is pure ignorance.

Arguing whether or not Fox is a politicians friend or not is equally inane. It is an outlet and avoiding it when you would like to get your opinion and voice to the people so as to encourage their vote is a payback to a cable station but not serving the nation.

Finally, whatever tearing apart of the sayings, wording or intent that fox will do, they will do anyway whatever station it is blurted out on. The interesting difference is just like Kerry, who avoided Fox as they blasted him, the dems this go around seem ready to avoid FOx which for most folks means they can't dispute what the other Fox folks are saying. It will end badly for them.

Time will tell.

I guess extreme libs only want to talk to extreme libs - the dem presidential candidates that is

despite the fact that so many nets are liberal leaning with fox news as the solo right leaning

they are so much like the 80%

great point about reaching out to the "undecideds" - so many repubs who want an alternative but instead they see pelosi in syria, john edwards wining, harry edwards flipping ................

even if you accepted the premise that "fox is not fair" - picture a little kid rubbing his eyes

you want to reach out to voters

simple basic premise

lost on the partisans

that kind of attitude could cost them many votes

democratic primaries are not for reaching out to republicans

they are for interparty decisions

there is no good reason to consider a republican entertainment station for that process. it gives them proprietary rights to clips that they will use to misrepresent what they have said

that is the bottom line when it comes to pols trusting an outlet

they have to trust that they will not be misrepresented

since fox took a case to court and won the right to intentionally lie to the public, its easy to see why they made the choice they made

They will be trounced over and over and refuse to defend themselves. You have all already agreed that was Kerry's swift boat fuck up. Why can you hold a straight face and argue this? Oh forgot, no straight faces..............

Oh forgot, no straight faces..............

in this forum there's no straight anything....

i am more interested in the butts that arent straight, myself....

by the way.... you owe me a picture

now that could earn a vote or two :p

I was watching Glenn Beck the other night, and here are some excerpts from his conversation with Ben Smith on this subject:

I think the key line here is when Glenn said that one should look beyond preaching to your own choir. I do watch Fox News, CNN and MSNBC and I am a registered Independent. It is to the benefit of all candidates to broaden their venues if they hope to gain any voters who weren't already in their camp.

I actually like Glenn Beck. He's way cool 8)

Gotta love bi-partisanship, God who knew crossing party lines could be hot!!!

Obama and Thompson ticket is for me.....

If the Dems think Iran and Syria must be engaged,if the lines of communication being always kept open is so sacrosanct, damn apply it to yourselves and the supposed ideological enemy,Fox News!I said the left was short-sighted before...that was WAY too generous, you're politically blind and deaf and primed to shoot yourselves in the foot, and deserve it!

I'd rather be unpopular and know I keep an open mind, explore all possibilities...not worship any sacred cows, than follow anyone's party line.
Again, mega-Rocky-Mountain-High ditto's!..|
