Desperate Housewives starts Sept 30th!

Lee said that the contractor was a 3, and some other guy they knew was a 9.

Normally, in division, 3 goes into nine 3 times. 3 times 3 equals nine.

But he was saying in the gay world 3 DOESN'T go into nine, which is sort of double entendre. In gay math, 3 doesn't go into nine. And LITERALLY a three won't be going INto nine. lol

Oh...ok. I thought there was more to it than that. Thanks. :-)

I just watched it. It's so stupid that they made Carlos blind, his character won't be as interesting and funny. Some of the other type of characters it'd work but not Carlos. They probably did it to shock people but it didn't make me feel anything when they said he was blind even though he's one of my favorite characters and I wasn't expecting it. I know it's possible that if it was real, it could really happen and he could really be blind but It just didn't seem realistic while watching that scene. The storyline is just going to be Gabby taking care of him from now on.

I don't know, surge, I think it has a great deal of potential. Here is where Gabby will find what she is really made of. Yeah, she conquered her hospital anxiety to stand by Lynnette, but her need to be the center of a man's world and be taken care of is going to be sorely tested here. Will she rise to the occasion for the man who is arguably her soul mate?

And Carlos showed some real tenderness and compassion dealing with Edie. Seeing him truly be vulnerable could be very poignant, if they go that way. I originally did not like his character and really liked Mike, but over the past season and a half the two have switched places in my interest in them.

I couldn't disagree more. They couldn't revist the oh no we're poor now! So they actually gave them something of substance to deal with.

Exactly. Finally it's a storyline not dealing with whether they're rich or poor or someone cheating.

Carlos is one of the funniest characters on the show. With him being blind, I don't see them having him crack jokes all the time like he always did. Sort of like when Lynette had cancer and with everything that came up, they had her cry her eyes out over it and somehow related it to cancer. Mike, Ian or Tom would've been a better choice to give the blindness storyline to since they're not nearly as funny.

I'm sorry is there a rule that blind people can't have a sense of humor? Of course people are going to react to hardships and illness. That's what makes them people. But they didn't make Lynette cry over everything they made her be Lynette just as we know her. Lynette is an assertive powerful women. She's a problem solver and she never lets anything stand in her way. She finds a way to control everything and she ran into something that was beyond her control and being Lynette she was determined to solve the problem even though the reality of the situation was that she couldn't. He denial caused her to press herself too far, overwork herself, and ultimately overwhelm her. Thus she got emotional much more often than previously because she was just physically and mentally worn down. Carlos is a different person and blindness is very different from cancer. He will react differently. But even though he's going to react doesn't mean his whole personality is necessarily going to change. I like that they made him blind... even if it is a little Little House On The Prairie

Why? When she stood up for them in front of her friends (granted, she only did it to try get into their good books, but she still did it).

She only changed her mind when they started disrupting her home life, showing no interest in that fact and being totally rude to her when she tried to talk to them about it.

I wonder why the gay couple are being written as such unlikeable characters :?

They are really unlikable and they bother me to no end, but you know, I have known far too many guys a lot like them.

I love the gay characters same way I love Edie. They may not be the nicest people but they keep things interesting.

I wasn't saying blind people can't be funny but knowing the writers, they'll focus on the blindness and not write as many jokes for him to crack. They'll more likely make him offended for certain things because people can still see and he can't. That's why I said make Orson, Tom or Mike blind instead and then we'll have both the blindness plot and a funny husband. Tom, Orson and Mike are pretty much in the background anyways so giving one of them the storyline would be good for both the character and the actor.

No. It's best for Gabby and Carlos because they're the ones who have yet to suffer a challenge of real substance in their relationship.

The gay couple still does nothing for me (given that Bob actually does nothing). Lee doesn't exactly have much to contribute either, apart from constantly acting like a stuck-up queen and talking down to the other characters as if they're just the ignorant heteros, or whatever.

Maybe some people find that enjoyable, it just gets on my nerves to be honest.

Same with the new 'big mystery'. I really don't care for Katherine's character and her secret doesn't seem all that interesting anyway. Maybe they've just overused this formula by now :P

It's a shame because I find that everything else on the show is getting really good at the moment.

THANK YOU!!! why a certain someone got so upset when i said Tuc Watkins was better suited to his role on One Life To Live, i'll never know. so far his character on here has been absolutely pointless...

Well you guys,

I just now saw the episode (a couple of nights ago), as I have been in the middle of moving.

It was pretty good and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

I think everyone had great scenes in this episode...some funny, and others moving.

As Vermillion stated...Bob and Lee are... #-o
Bob I can deal with...but Lee reminds me of the kind of gay men I do NOT get along with in any shape, form, or fashion. The relentless bitchiness can be a bit much. OHHHH...and does he really think he's not a 3?
I was looking at him like he'd lost his marbles when he was talking about their contractor friend like he had room to talk.

I am pretty bummed about Carlos being blind. :( He's one of my favorite male characters and I just hope that he won't have it too hard from here on out.

BUT...thanks to the studios...we'll have to wait until God knows when before we see how everything plays out. #-o](*,)

Fixed. :D :D :D

No, I said exactly what I meant.

"fixing" my post, with your opinion?

I don't think so.

If that's the case, then both of them are to blame. :D

It's not exactly opinion whose fault it is that the writers are on strike. One party is willing to negotiate, the other isn't. It's simple, really.

I agree! Some people compare the gay (and straight) characters on Desperate Housewives to the ones on Sex and the City and frankly, this gay couple has only enhanced the comparison, rather than helping to draw a healthy contrast. The show is losing what made it unique... and in the process, has come close to "jumping the shark". Good thing this last episode was so enjoyable, that it's managed to hold offf that point...

for now.
