Desperate Housewives - The Return

Don't forget in one of the earlier episodes Nathan Fillion's character says something to Katherine about what happened to Dillon in the room that the aunt stays in later.

This was the best episode of the season, IMO.

I love how the writers took a loose end from the S3 mystery (Orson and Mike) and made it into a great storyline instead of ignoring it. Susan was hilarious, and the scene where Bree thought that Susan had a 'naughty dream' was so funny. And the end with Julie was great.

I loved Bree and Katherine. Everyone says that Katherine is just a Bree clone, but after this episode we see that yes, she is like Bree, but she has so much to offer to this show, not just a mystery storyline. I felt her pain when she confronted Bree after the banquet. Bree is such a bitch sometimes.
Katherine is such a great character. I hope she stays after the season is over so much more now.

I loved how Gaby realized she was being an awful person for pushing the guy in the wheel chair away. The fact that she's aware of her dickhead qualities makes her even funnier.

Even though I hated the Lynette/Rick storyline last season, its interesting whats going on now. I have a feeling it wasn't Tom who burned down the restaurant. They made it a point to show the kids witness Tom and Lynette fighting. So it may have been one of them. And we all know who that could be...

And It was great to see all the ladies having lunch together. :gogirl:

I would like to echo everything you said, and add that I like Edie's role in the group. She may have been the most hated character, but she is now one of my favourites.

And WOOHOO for the 5 seconds of Andrew this episode!

Great episode.

In response to Spellbound theory about Tom not setting the fire and maybe it was one of the kids. I am thinking the same thing, I think that it is Tom's daughter. We shall see.

According to the previews, Tom and Rick get into a huge fight and maybe Lynette gets injured. And it looks like maybe Dylan's dad isn't dead after all.

Yeah she's one of my favorites too. She says whats on her mind, and I love that. Its just a shame her part hasn't been bigger this season. But I heard she does something huge in an upcoming episode.

Glad they tied up that Orson is a bad man stuff from long long ago but at what price? Do the writers hate Bree? They stick her with crazy kids and psycho, evil, crazy, dying, sex crazed boyfriends and husbands. Can she just get and keep a guy for once?

The stuff with Gabby and the dog frsutrated me because A-it wasn't all that interesting or funny and B-she keeps yo-yoing going from a selb absorbed bitch to a caring wife to a self absorbed bitch. It's always been her character but circumstances have drastically changed. Can we little character growth her? I mean, I can easily, EASILY see Gabby cheating on Carlos any minute now (and knowing the show, have him get his sight back and catch her but still pretend to be blind)

Loving the Lynette and Tom stuff still. Points go to Spellbound for accurately guessing it was the Scavo kids that set the fire, despite what we were led to believe. Can't wait to see where all that goes.

On a side note, I watched the episode with my younger bro who barely watches and he made the comment that he thought Lynette was grandma-aged when she was talking with Rick. And I thought to myself, yeah, she does look mighty old compared to the deliciously sexy Jason Gedrick. She's not that old. Come one, let's fix that Marc!

Warning: Spoilers ahead

I really liked tonights episode. Ok where do I begin...

Orson, Mike, Susan and Bree
The fact that Orson seemed to get away with trying to kill Mike at the end of S2 always bugged me. Yeah he didn't kill his wife or his mistress, but he DID try to kill Mike. I thought that plot-line was going to be conveniently ignored, as some plot-lines have been in the past.
But the way they're handling this is excellent. It was like a bomb went off in tonights episode. Teri Hatcher was excellent when she confronted Orson. And the look on Marcia Cross' face was great. I really hope things work out for Orson and Bree. I really like them as a couple, and Orson is really remorseful about the whole thing.

Gaby, Carlos and Edie
At first I was disliking the dog storyline. But thanks to Edie, Gaby now understands that Carlos has changed, and she needs to adjust. I have a feeling she'll be much more sympathetic to Carlos' condition from now on, and less of a dickhead. And that dog is adorable! But on a whole, the storyline wasn't very funny, but it offered Gaby a chance to finally grow.

Lynette, Tom and Rick
I had a feeling that one of the kids burned down Ricks restaurant. But I figured it was Kayla, since she seemed to have a mean-streak in the past. I was actually surprised that it was Porter and Preston. I loved the scene when they confessed to Lynette.
I hated The whole Lynette/Rick storyline last season, but I'm loving how its playing out now.

Katherine, Dylan and Wayne
Ok that Wayne guy is really creepy. Is he really her father? Whats his motive? Is he going to try to kill Katherine? And now that Dylan's dad is alive, who is buried in that grave in the woods? The scene at the end when he looked in on Katherine as he drove by with Dylan was so creepy.
Oh, and I can't wait to see more of Bree and Katherine starting their own business together. I saw that one coming from the beginning of the season.

I can't wait for next week. Edie and Orson? WTF?! What is with Edie and the leftovers? First Karl, then Carlos, and now Orson? I love Edie, but come on!

:D

I have my theories now.

A) Wayne is really Dylan's birth father but not the man that Katherine really killed and not the man that used to beat her. What else could go along with that story I'm at a loss for, but that's all I got on that one.

B) Wayne is some creepy stalker obsessed with Katherine or some evil guy from her past who is using Dylan to try to get to Katherine. He'll end up convincing Dylan to go away with him and kidnap her, informing Katherine he knows about the murder and wants something in exchange for his secrecy and Dylan.

or

C) Wayne really is the man that used to beat up on Katherine and the man that Katherine 'killed' is someone else entirely.

I don't know what to think but I hope the truth is really juicy and better than the crap my mind is churning out.

About Edie. I've felt since the beginning of the show that they just don't know what to do with her. All of her storylines feel like leftovers so it makes perfect sense all the guys she dates are other womens leftovers. I think they should make her the core of next seasons big mystery to make her character more focal to the story and ultimately more important and interesting.

I read somewhere that Edie wasn't originally intended to be such a big character. She became so popular in S1 that the writers scrambled to fit her in for the rest of the show. Thats when "Leftovers Edie" appeared.

I would love that. There's so much potential there.

I hope Katherine stays, but I also wish we saw more of Edie. Why can't they just add another half hour to the show? ](*,)#-o

I love Katherine. I hope she will be a regular. Im glad Orson is gone now. Bree was starting to get boring.

Orson definitely isn't gone for good.

lol, Edie's fueded with Susan and Gaby, now it's time for Bree.

It sort of made me mad. Didn't Mike already know that Orson ran him over? After his coma, he remembered and there were many referrences to it after. Example: When Mike asked Orson for drugs, Orson didn't want to give it to him but Mike said something like "It's the least you could do for running me over". Also in the Poker night with the guys episode, Mike didn't want to go because Orson would be there but went anyways and then Mike made snide remarks to Orson about Orson running him over and Orson changes the subject so Tom/Carlos wouldn't find out.

I don't remember them making Mike lose his memory a 2nd time. A huge plot hole there. Mike knew but he didn't tell anyone Orson did it.

Mike remembered that he met Orson the night Monique went missing.
Mike was there to fix her sink, but when he left to go pick up a part from the store, Orson's mother Gloria showed up and murdered Monique with Mike's wrench. Orson showed up to see Monique and instead found his mother standing over Monique's dead body. His mother convinced him to help her get rid of the body, and thats when Mike came back from the store. While Gloria hid in the pantry, Orson said he'd fix the sink himself, paid Mike for his time and that was that.
Thats what Mike remembered.
At the time he remembered, Mike was the prime suspect in Monique's murder because her blood was found on his wrench, so he was pissed when he realized that Orson was letting him take the fall for the murder. Thats when he confronted Orson at the hospital.

He never remembered that Orson ran him down. (How could he anyway? It wasn't like he saw his face.)
When Mike asked for the pain killers, he only mentioned his hit-and-run because that was what was making his shoulder still hurt. Orson felt guilty because he knew he had been the one who tried to kill Mike.

Until the latest episode, Mike never knew that Orson tried to kill him. The only people who ever knew were Gloria and Alma, Orson's ex-wife. But Alma is dead and Gloria is paralyzed and can't speak.
But now its out in the open.

I could've sworn I remembered Mike saying "Because some asshole ran me over" and giving Orson a look during the Desperate Husbands poker episode, and then Orson gets nervous and changes the subject. I wish I could go back to that episode, I'll try to find something online if I could.

I kind of remember that scene. It was in the episode that Rex narrated. If Orson changed the subject it was only because he didn't want to talk about it. Not because Mike already knew.

^You're correct. All Mike knew was that he saw Orson when he was cleaning up Monique's blood. That's why he confronted Orson on the roof, where they fought, and Orson ended up falling off.

Yeah... "some asshole" (but it was probably "some bastard", because they would never use the a-word on network TV), not "you". Mike was expressing frustration towards Orson, but he didn't know he was actually talking about him. The directors just told James Denton to make that look in the scene towards him because they wanted to play up the ironic nature of that scene. It confused me too, but I did a search on it including some threads here at JUB, and it was confirmed here and elsewhere that Mike, at that point, did not know it was Orson that ran him over.

so tonight we get Tuc Watkins, Richard Burgi and possibly Chris Carmack on TOP of all the hot pieces of ass already wandering around Wisteria Lane? NICE!!!
