Drive has been impounded.

Multiple sources confirm that Fox has axed the Tim Minear creation after less than three weeks on the air. I'll go out on a limb and say the show's crappy ratings were to blame. House encores will take over its Monday/8 pm time slot.

There is one piece of good news: I'm hearing the final two unaired Drive eps may get burned off on consecutive Fridays in May.

Developing...

Not Surprised

The ratings on this show have been terrible. This show was really starting to grow on me.. I really enjoyed the recent episodes.

Its really hard to fall in love with a new show, because after a few weeks it may be canceled.

I hate the networks!!

They really should give the show time to grow on people. Few shows are ever going to be an instant hit. Alas, reruns get them better ratings, so who cares if anyone actually likes the show? *sigh*

That's FOX for you. Let's all think about just how many shows on that network that aren't American Idol or The Simpsons that have actually been around longer than five years. Anyone?

House is making a good run. It's getting very high ratings. But it's true, most shows aside from AI or Simpsons don't get much of a chance.

I'm not surprized because even though the first few episode were fun, after the last episode i got a feeling that the writers didn't know where it was going, especially after they killed the black woman.

Don't really care about this show in particular. But I do think that it is hard to get into new shows because so many of them are cancelled. And it's hard to really get into them and start enjoying only to have them yanked off the air.

Stupid Fox...

Sorry, I didn't watch this show (It competes against my Heroes, so easy choice for me...)

However, I will access my anger about Arrested Development's cancelation...

Poor Nathan Fillion...can't ever catch a break.

First, Firefly than this....

He should leave Fox and go to ABC...

QFT. And did anyone catch that the detective at Fillion's house in the pilot (investigating his wife's kidnaping) was "Early" from the final (but unaired) episode of Firefly? :)

LOL it was so funny how E!'s "The Soup" was making fun of it saying, it would be axed after just three shows. Joel McHale knows his TV :)

oh my. that show just started last week. what upsets me is that the girl who played Rose on Two and a Half Men left that show to star in Drive. She was very funny and successful on that show. She gave that up to star in a real dud. Now she stars in nothing.

Well, that's what FOX did to her. They gave her a job in that series, so she left the other one. Now, because they didn't want to give the show a change, she is stuck with nothing.

You never know. She just might get her old job back. It happens. An example off the top of my head is Kim Raver leaving 24 to join the now defunct The Nine who is already back on 24.

I was in the dentists office a couple days ago and I happened to be watching it and the shit was good! I'm a little upset they are cancelling it but oh well.

I started thinking about it and does anyone realize that FOX is the network that gets all the really good and creative new shows, but ends up cancelling all of them? All they do is waste their money and our time.

It actually deserved to get cancelled, the first episode was good and interesting, the second episode dragged BIG TIME, and half-way through the 3rd episode I had lost interest. The idea was good, but someone here posted that they didn't know where the storyline was going and I have to agree.

:-)

The problem seems to be that FOX comes up with good ideas, then doesn't know where to actually go with most of them.

i truly hate fox.. They always do that to the shows i like! I was excited because i thought of this show as a possible spring/summer and since the big shows aren't normally in the summer, it would have been good.

Fox doesn't give any shows a chance. It kind of gave the 4th Season of The O.C. a chance, but a really half-assed one. It made a little timeslot switch experiment, but without any significant ad campaign to tell people about it. Now that show's gone, as well as other great shows like Arrested Development. Because of what happened with those shows, I'm not very surprised about Drive. I thought about watching it, but not until it looked like it was going to stick around. I hate starting to watch shows and just see them disappear.
