Developing story: DRIVE on FOX = CANCELED

i never even got the chance to check it out and see if it was watching worthy and its getting axed already. Makes you not want to get into a show cause it will probably end up getting cancelled before it even has a chance to make an impression.

I hate FOX it has no faith in it's shows. Its 100% about ratings. They won't try to stick it out if a show has potential... they just won't. I was amazed they held onto Arrested Development as long as they did. It's a shame because I saw the adds and wanted to see it but never even got to because it was cancelled before I realized it was on...I have FOX. If seinfeld were on FOX it never woulda made it.

I wish they never even touched it. Maybe another channel would've picked it up instead... liek the CW, I love how they actually made good shows and have faith in them

Indeed, i do enjoy a few shows on CW not sure what Fox's deal is but that shouldnt be the way to do business seriously.

that would be so freaking awesome for some other network to come and pick up those shows that Fox bails on like a bad habit. then become big time hits and Fox is left standing with their thumbs up you know where. ;)

If only a network would pick up those shows. FOX would wind up losing all sorts of ratings because all these good shows they don't give a chance would be taking off.

They don't even try to market them either. The season after Buffy was canceled they acquired an Eliza Dushku (who was in Buffy btw) show (I felt had potentional) but instead of putting it on the Tue slot where Buffy used to be, where there was now a huge block of people who watch this kind of show and know and like Eliza Dushku what did they do.... they put it up against survivor and the finale season of Friends... it didn't make it... gee whodda thunk? Seriously it's ridiculous that threw away Wanda Sykes (LOVE HER) and her very funny comedy and shoved Boston Public into a timeslot God Knows Where until it got canceled. I HATE them. And from what I hear Wonderfalls which hit swift cancellation was suppose to have been good and the OC was supposedly getting much better. I want to kick Rupert Murdoch in the face.

As long as American Idol and House are two of the most watched shows in the country.. they don't give a damn about canceling shows. Combined.. both Idol/House reach 45-50 million viewers each week on the same night. If you include 5th grader the number is higher for the week. FOX is number one across the board in ratings through January through May. FOX is also currently the number one network in the prestigious 18-49 market.

If FOX had debuted Drive after Idol... I would expect Drive to still be on the air. They debuted this show on SUNDAY.. that is the worst day to debut a show like Drive on, with no LEAD IN... especially on a network like FOX.

Here are the rankings for the networks of the most popular shows last week(April 16-22, 2007)
1. AMERICAN IDOL
2. AMERICAN IDOL
3. HOUSE

4. GREY'S ANATOMY
5. DANCING W/THE STARS

It just sickens me because I mean I can't say I don't watch reality crap (because make no mistake there are reality shows and reality CRAP) it's entertaining and I like to be entertaining but to know it's putting good shows off the air is sickening... I mean when you look at the fact The Search For The Next Pussycat is getting a second season (how many pussycats do we need? I really think we have too many) and like idk every other critically acclaimed show on the CW is on the bubble (Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, etc.) it's sickening. Crappy reality should be banished to VH1 were it belongs and can be viewed through out the day... you hear me American Idol... go away and take Dancing With The Former D-listers who are now like Y-listers with you

I see your point, many shows are getting the boot for reality crap :D

The Search for the Next Pussycat... is one of CW's highest rated shows. So it was pretty predictable that it would be renewed for a second season. The show got some very good ratings on a competitive night. From what I've read on various news site... expect alot more of reality shows on the CW. I still don't understand how the Pussycat series got such huge ratings. I know there is a horny hetero crowd out there.. I guess they came in numbers :D

Also expect more reality/and game shows on network TV. The shows to produce on network tv is just too damn expensive, and the ratings/advertising dollars just don't satisfy the bottom line. If it isn't a big hit in the first two weeks, then the show will end.

Reality TV/game shows = cheap.. That's why their sister cable networks are getting most of the dramas, and etc. FOX's sister station F/X has more dramas debuting/renewing every single season. They just recently renewed Dirt/The Riches..

Drive would have done much better on cable(F/X) than on network TV.. IMO!! It would have easily done the numbers of The Shield or Dirt on F/X.
