Dexter: Season 4 Discussion Thread

This really needs to be the final season. Its been brilliant so far but its going to become repetitive soon, and there's only so long you can want the anti-hero to get away with it.

i feel like with each season dexter grows in his humanity. as in with each season his supposed "sociopath" personality subsides. and the audience is noticing it before dexter. my prediction is that the series will end on the season he realizes that he actually is a man with emotions

Given that he's married and has a kid, that pretty much needs to be this season.

There's always a danger the show will descend into self-parody if it keeps going where its going.

But yeah, that trailer looks good.

I agree that this might have to be the last season, I can't see how they can continue. How many times can we go through the same recycled plot line? Serial Killer comes into town, Debra or someone close to Debra gets injured, etc.

But I am loving this season, I can't wait to see more of John Lithgow.

I agree with the above. This season is amazing! I don't have a clue who shot Deb and Lundy. We all know Debra is going to live but Lundy is done. That Trinity killer was checking out Lundy so it might have been him but that's too predictable.

Anton doesn't seem like the type to even get angry enough to hurt Deb or anybody like that. Quinn seems to have a dark side but I don't know what it is he wants yet.

What was that liquid that Trinity put on the ground next to the mother who he made jump? He took the glove off and put something on the ground with his finger next to her body.

Is it possible that Lundy set this up to fake his own death so it would be easier for him to track and find the Trinity Killer? Perhaps Deb being shot was a complete accident.

Interesting theory! I don't know. I guess anything is possible at this point.

Was it liquid? I thought it was dust/ash. After John Lithgow made that woman jump, they show him sitting at a table sharing a drink with no one. But I thought there was an urn and a picture, so I just assumed that he places the ash from this person at the kill sites.

Oh yeah you're right! That's what it was. He must be the sickest killer they've had on the show so far, next to Dexter lol.

So Christine is Trinity's daughter? I love it! So unexpected.

The Thanksgiving scenes at Trinity's house were intense and uncomfortable to watch. What a screwed up family, LoL. I can't believe Arthur just broke his son's finger like that. Eek! Was that Vanessa Marano playing his daughter? Anyway, those scenes were great.

I love that Masuka saw Rita kissing the neighbor. I also love that Deb is figuring out who shot her but she really has no clue who or what she's messing with. Tonight opened a whole new can of worms in many ways. The pace has been set for the rest of the season.

I don't see how Dexter will be able to kill Trinity without instantly becoming a suspect. He's gotten too close to him and his family and he's been seen with him by too many people. It'll be interesting to see where it goes from here. Maybe Trinity's son will be the one to do the deed and Dexter will kill Christine.

Next week looks insane.

Great episode last night with Trinity's family. Love the son, Brando Eaton. He is just hot as hell.

Wow...what a major twist with the older daughter of Trinity. I wonder why she went after Deb and Lundy? I originally thought it might have to with Deb and Quinn, but don't know.

I agree with you. Every season has had the same basic plot-framework. However, I don't think the show should end until he offs that incredible annoying Rita!

This was the best fucking episode yet this season! As soon as Christine started saying how sorry she was about Deb getting shot I knew she was the one who shot her and Lundy. Anything for a story I guess lol. I wonder what her and her old man Trinity are going to get into next.

I knew Rita and her neighbor were getting too close. He is there too much flirting with her. When Dexter finds out he is gonna sleep with the fishes. I hope Masuka doesn't say anything to Dexter. I wonder if he'll tell Deb?

The Thanksgiving Day from hell at Trinity's house was too good. I knew his family was acting too fake about how happy they were. His wife fears him the most. I really think his son is going to kill him before Dexter gets a chance to. He is such a crazy son of a bitch that his family wants him dead lol.

Last night's episode was intense. So glad Christine was finally caught!

The Dexter/Trinity scenes were fantastic. I'm glad Dexter saved the little boy.

The next two episodes look crazy. I wonder what the big twist is?! Maybe Trinity kills Rita in the bathtub.

Because American TV/Film is sexist like that. The only show that shows nude guys is Nip/Tuck. I think that's only because it's awareness of its largely gay audience. I think Dexter is more of a straight guy show.

Yes the principle cast members are all signed on for season 5.
Yes that was Vanessa playing the daughter - I recall her as Luke's daughter (April) on Gilmore Girls.
Having Rita killed off would be too easy but the neighbour will be swimming with the fishes when somebody blabs to Dex.
Last two epis of the season look like they'll be amazing.
