Dick Cheney - on the comeback trail

he's kinda kicking obama's and the dems ass with his latest convos on the pres and terror and gitmo, etc.

he's looking pretty good

well make that he's sounding pretty good

cuz he looks terrible

but he's holding obama/dems accountable and he's frankly right

In response to ex-vice president Dick Cheney's Crusade to Save My Reputation and the Republican Party, he has accomplished what I previously thought was not possible: Make ex-president George W. Bush look smarter than Dick Cheney.

Nonono Chance...please....Dick Cheney? Perhaps the most evil man to touch Washington in the last 30 yrs...he's lost all credibility.

I might even be willing to listen to his 'closing guantanamo is dangerous' spiel if I weren't more afraid of him out in public than the terrorists.

Besides, they've all been raped into submission by Cheney's orders...pretty harmless.

and where is oxnard?

You're kidding, right?

It sounds like someplace in England... or like something found in the kitchen, for baking ("Honey, hand me the oxnard, would you?"... as she adjusts something in the oven.)

Seriously, why would someone who lives in a city that thinks it's the only important part of the country know where Oxnard is?

Hint for chance: think Ace ______, Pet Detective

I'm not a dick cheney fan - not at all

i think in this instance he is correct - that obama is naive on foreign policy and i think it's ok for him or any republican to call the President on that subject

it's his/their duty

what do u want?

silence?

====================================

I think even a cursory glance at the Obama foreign policy team should turn aside the charge that Obama pursues a "naive" foreign policy. The team is full of policy veterans from former administrations (including Gates) and distinguished military people.

If ever there was a "naive" foreign policy it was the policy pursued by Bush and Cheney which was based on power politics, false assumptions and an overemphasis on military power. We do not even know for sure who was responsible for Foreign Policy in the Bush Admin because the Bush SoS's were little more than window dressing.

How has Obama made America less safe? Torture was stopped at the end of the first Bush term and the closing of one prison (Guantanamo) hardly constitutes a threat to America.

If Cheney had an ounce of integrity he would be making speeches apologizing to Americans for the incredible failures of the Bush Admin and the weakening of America and the desecration of American honor.

Apparently Cheney believes that the only chance he has to mitigate the inevitable harsh judgement of history is to damage and sabotage the Obama administration. That's not patriotic, it is cowardly, but quite typical of Cheney's life story.

it's really working with North Korea

'On the comeback trail'...

Does that mean he's looking for someone else to fill with shotgun pellets? ;)

Seriously - I think maybe HE is just getting worried about personally being held accountable for some of the atrocities of the Bush Administration.

Atrocities, schmotrocities...this is standard leftist fare that is only received here as preaching to the choir. He is not worried about anything that you could dish at him. He is worried about Islamic fundamentalism.

There are actually a lot of us around that find former Vice President Cheney a refreshing grownup in a world of whining, self-involved, self-important kids. He took his job seriously, and believed (as a lot of us do) that radical, Islamic terrorism is the greatest threat to Western Civilization.

Cheney and his boss were re-elected in 2004 by a noticeable margin, and he was not the reason why President Obama won in 2008.

NOTHING works with North Korea, because in truth there is no such thing as "North Korea", there's the private fief of a lunatic.

He can be bribed, but he doesn't stay bribed. He can't be threatened, because he is confident there's nothing behind the threats. He can't be sanctioned, because he doesn't care.

The only way to change his mind is to eliminate him. Any efforts to influence North Korea should be directed at convincing those around him that they'd be better off if they relocated him about six feet under.

He may have the threat pinned correctly, but his approach to dealing with it was deeply immoral.

Do you know anything about Dick Cheney?

He took his job seriously, and believed (as a lot of us do) that radical, Islamic terrorism is the greatest threat to Western Civilization.

The greatest threat to "Western Civilization" are those who would undermine everything we believe in (have believed in) out of fear of random terrorism. The terrorists themselves are nothing without your fear response. They can take down buildings and kill people and possibly even threaten cities but they can't destroy a civilization unless we let them undermine who we are.

Have you been asleep for a few years? Dick Cheney is exactly what caused the complete rejection of the Republican party in this last election. The party lined up in lockstep behind him and TBA for 8 years and rubberstamped everything that came out of the Bush White House and they finally paid for it in the last election.

As it turns out, the current crop of Democrats doesn't seem to be much better. The only reason Dick Cheney has any traction at all right now is because the spineless Democrats let him and that idiot Bush push them around and intimidate them into going along with them when the Republicans had the majority. If the Democrats had had a pair of balls during the Bush years and stood by their base (we were begging them to) even if they knew they didn't have the votes to prevent the Republicans from getting their way, the Republicans wouldn't have anything to rub their faces in now.

The terrorists are the only friends Dick Cheney has right now. He knows there could well be another attack (eventually). There could have been one at any time and it's probably inevitable. He's running his mouth now because any idiot knows you can't prevent terrorism forever if they're really determined. He's that desperate. That's all he has. Dick Cheney is not "refreshing". He's a stale gorilla fart in an elevator and I want off.

Terrorism depends on cowards to accomplish it's goals.

Point 1: I did not ever think I would see the day that Americans—normal, sane Americans—would justify torture.

Hear, hear! :=D:

Point 2: The economy wasn't bad enough. Historically, Americans have voted their pocketbooks. Even at the time, I predicted that Bush and Cheney would win a second term.

Besides, their opponent was BORING!
All it would have taken for the Dems to have won was an interesting, energetic candidate, instead of (another) stodgy & distant personality.
That's something Obama had in common with Reagan, to whom he compared himself: he was interesting, energetic, even fun, on the campaign trail.
