Okay, let's clear some things up here as there is some good info, and some garbage here.

First, hepatitis A is a virus, not a bacteria. And it is fecal-oral transmission. Hepatitis B is spread through blood and body fluids and is also a virus.

How long a virus survives outside of the body depends on the virus. I know some can survive 24hours. HIV doesn't last long as I recall but don't remember the exact time.

The likelihood of getting HIV from eating shit is not very high... I don't know the numbers.

Now, down to the real problem... I think you have some issues with the fact that you sucked off a dick. That's why the taste is still there a week later.... it's all mental. No taste lasts a week in reality. So the event disgusts you... whether it was the act of sucking a dick or the person himself, something about that you didn't like. Figure that out first. And to be safe, feel free to get tested in six months.

But here's what I can tell you about HIV and the scenario you gave:

1) If he had unprotected sex an hour ago, your chances aren't that high from catching it just off of his dick.

2) If he was infected when he had unprotected sex, then chances are higher

3) On top of that, if the virus was plentiful enough on his dick (and not due to infection) to be transfered to you orally, then it could have entered your system via your gums, or any cuts in your mouth or (and with a lower chance) in the mucus membranes in your throat.

I'd say that your best bet is to wait it out, get tested in three months and in the future, be sure to either have sex with people whose sexual practices and status you KNOW or, if you persist in having sex with DL men and the like, always having sex using condoms (even for oral, if the guys you're running with are having sex that you don't know about left and right).

I think people are joking because it's astounding how little people on here know about HIV or how you could get it. I think people are also forgetting that as gay and bisexual men we have a responsibility to be tested for HIV and other STDs on an ongoing basis (at least every 6 months) and this is irrespective of whether or not we are in a relationship. Additionally, we should also be vaccinated against Hepatitis A & B due to the nature of our sexual activity which places us at higher risk for infection.

Despite these responsibilities, I would think we would want to also take the extra precautions and engage in sexual activity with someone we know for more than just a few minutes or hours, thereby knowing that your partner takes care to be clean for you.
