Movie spoilers ahead!

One of my favorite movies used to be Phantasm. I enjoyed it intensely until I read the review "The only thing more unintentionally hilarious than this movie is the positive reviews." on IMDB.

The review made me realize a few things about the movie I hadn't noticed before. Did something similar ever happen to you? That you read something afterwards that changed your appreciation of a movie?

No I have my own opinions on movies and critics sometimes have valid points but thats what they are paid for.

Sometimes I get to the realization that I just love some films for all the wrong reasons. But I tend to stick to my original feelings.
Which is not to say that I might not change my mind about stuff after revisiting it after a few years. But that's different.

I tend to stick with my initial reaction, although some critics can help me to articulate my feelings.

Pauline Kael on Stanley Kubrick. To be fair, Eyes Wide Shut also changed my feelings.

"Remove your mask." :-({|= :roll::bs:

Nah, I avoid other people's reviews. If I'm interested enough to watch it, and then like it, then I'll watch it.

For the most part I look at the movie myself and stay away from the reviews but I do like the Spill.com reviews. They're hilarious and I tend to agree with them.
