Various phases. My wearing-only-black phase. My skinhead (but not skinhead clothing) phase. My homeless-in-Spain phase. My leatherman phase.
Now I'm in my second drug phase. My 'alternative' phase. My religious phases... etc.
 
When I was in college I thought I was having a straight phase. It turned out to be alcohol induced and only lasted about 30 minutes. Fortunately I didn't embarrass myself by doing anything about it.
 
Everyone goes through some kind of phase sometime, especially when they are young. Fashions are the most obvious, but there can be mental or emotional phases as well. They usually run their course faster when you are young, but everyone is different. I'm sure that I have had several, some very subtle and others stronger, and perhaps some not ending.
 
15 years ago I went through a phase where I thought I liked techno.

I still have to laugh when reading a note left by my mother in her jewelry that wondered if my homo-ism might have been just a phase.

I think that by the time she died in 2003, she probably had come to realize it wasn't a phase, since my partner and I had been together for 20 years by that time.

LOL I still cringe when I look back on that phase....
 
When I was a kid/teen I was a little bit of a shoplifter, It was always some small stupid shit! I gotta say I was decent at it too! Then as I got more into the teens it was more adult oriented a few playgirls, some designer underwear from higher end stores!
 
In my early 20s I would go to vintage clothes stores and buy zoot suits and other 1930s-40s clothes - sometimes I mixed them with faded levis and thin ties - when it was cold I wore 30s-40s hats and trenchcoats as well. I got over it one day in my mid to late 20s and donated them back to the vintage shop though I still like the look.
