On Thursday, Democratic Party officials held their first staff meeting since Hillary Clinton’s stunning loss to Donald Trump in the presidential race. It didn’t go well.

Donna Brazile, the interim leader of the Democratic National Committee, was giving what one attendee described as “a rip-roaring speech” to about 150 employees, about the need to have hope for wins going forward, when a staffer identified only as Zach stood up with a question.

“Why should we trust you as chair to lead us through this?” he asked, according to two people in the room. “You backed a flawed candidate, and your friend [former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz] plotted through this to support your own gain and yourself.”

He was right. The feeling of being stitched up when they tried and successfully limited Bernie from both air time and finances is sore for many progressives, not just in the Democratic party. The shit has hit the fan, and the birds have come home to roost.

My impression is that Trump won not because democrats failed to capture independent voters, as your video claims, but because democrats failed to turn out their own voters. If that's true, the problem is running a candidate who will appeal to the broadest range of constituents within the party, liberal, moderate, whatever. I'm not convinced that there is any essential connection between the liberalism of a democratic candidate and their ability to attract a wide range of support.

Sorry..but I will take Politifact and Snopes and Truth.org's opinion on the truthfulness of any candidate..and I do read up on all of them..... before I take rumors and innuendo seriously churned out by the right wing propaganda machine.

The purity test was so odd..most any politician would fail....and then to see them let Donald...of all people... slide..the biggest liar by far...unbelievably bizarre. It is impossible to take them seriously now...and I never will again. I used to be one of them...but I am not an anarchist....

I understand the value of compromise..and no one should ever get everything they want.

I do love honesty though...and to date..Jimmy Carter is my favorite President. I truly love him. I would be proud to risk my life serving him as Commander in Chief..my respect for him is intense....

If Purity was required , Sanders would have stayed in Race and won.
