Hmmm....ok, now I'm interested. When did this phrase become popular?
I used to be best friends with a guy when I was a teen. Hell, there was a while where we were damn near inseparable. We constantly hung out and slept over quite a bit.
He always seemed pretty straight, but he did say gay things a lot. You know, the way most straight guys joke, and I'd joke back. But, something about it was a bit different when he did it.
And he ALWAYS said How U doin' to me and a few others. I'd never heard of the phrase (obviously) but he was from another part of the country. I don't think he watched the friends tv show.
And I know he's had one or two girlfriends, but I never heard him talk about sex...ever.
Man, looking back, I wonder if he was "testing the water." It always seemed like he was checking people's reactions when he said gay things, but maybe I was reading into it too much.
Oh yeah, and sometimes he'd go on about how fat he was. I mean, he did it in a manly way, but he was definitely NOT fat. Usually only chicks or gay guys go on about being fat when they're not. (i.e. you could see his abs, he just wasn't totally riped)
I just thought of him as a friend. (Never thought of him sexually) But, now that I think about it, naivety probably struck again. I hope he wasn't too into me.
Really though, he acted VERY masculine. I suspected a little bit, but I doubt anyone else did. Now that I don't know, I think it's really going to bug me.
Ugh, I never pick up on little signals. See, this is why I want to know these phrases!
Hi!I bat from both sides of the plate! LOL
