Do gay guys discriminate against lesbians?

I'm a gay male and half of my friends are lesbians (the other half other gay guys) - We all get along together, and I can't seem to understand why we should not.

I think the lesbian-hating gay man is more a figure of the past (along with the mysoginist gay man), pretty much like the "man-hating lesbian". I don't think it has any relevance now.

I do understand the question in part because gays and lesbians often tend to have very different values ... The stereotypes are that gay men are very stylish, often very self-centred, usually creative, often superficial and etc. etc. etc. While lesbians are 'salt of the earth', birkenstockers who have no interest in style, much more politically oriented etc. etc. etc.

I think for people who fit either of those stereotypes (and there are many), there is not a lot of commonality.

But most gays and lesbians aren't that far out on the margins so there is a much greater likelihood of cross-over. And for those for whom their sexual orientation is not their reason for living (don't even get me started on that one) there is no reason for them to have any issues with each other at all ... except that people are people.

As for the comment that gays can be racist, well why should that be surprising? I've found that some of the harshest critics of minorities are people from other minorities. Makes me scratch my head but ... people are people.

If there is any stereotype that fits many gay people, it's that we're overtly PC.
