So I can't tell if the thing above is a tear or not. It's right at the point where my asshole and perineum meet. I've felt this little crevice before but I never really questioned it until recently. After watching many porn videos where the top is licking the bottom's asshole, the bottom's asshole never had this same thing I have, so now I'm suspecting it could be a tear. What's unnerving about this is that, like I said, I've felt this before, and I'm pretty sure I've felt this two years ago. So I'm suspecting I developed a tear around 17 but never got it fixed, and it has developed over the two years into this.

Another thing that's unnerving is that it seems to have just settled in place as if it's a scar. It almost never bleeds but it can be itchy and irritated at points. The only time this could have bled is when I had some blood fucking myself with a dildo but that's only happened about two or three times and I've fixed it since then. Now when I fuck myself with a dildo there's no blood.

So should I be worried about this? I mean, it really doesn't seem normal to me, and it does become irritated sometimes. This could also be the reason why I have to wash my ass every time I take a shit. What should I do about this?

My first thought was pilonidal cyst, but I think they are usually higher up. Wouldn't hurt to ask a doctor, seems like it should be easy to diagnose.

BTW, you are a remarkable photographer. May I ask how you took the shots?

Well, I pointed the camera to my asshole and took the shots. That's really all I did lol.

Perineal tears are rare in men. Usually, they are seen in women after chlidbirth and they start with the vagina and extend toward the anus.

This looks like a healed anterior anal fissure. What is unusual is that most fissures in men occur on the other side- the side closest to the tailbone.

I still find it remarkable. It seems like you would need one hand to clear a path and the other to hold the camera and take the picture—and flying blind the whole time.

Yeah it's really confusing actually. What should I do about it? Is there any way to "fix" it? I know you said it's most likely healed, but it just doesn't look right to me.

Oh I forgot to mention I took it with a camcorder, so I was able to see a preview before I took the shot.

You should get an opinion from your physician. It's difficult to make an accurate diagnosis based upon pictures, so your doctor would need to do a physical exam and discuss the options with you. In order to do cosmetic repair and a functional repair, you would probably need a referral to a colorectal surgeon.

Okay thanks. I'll see if I can get to a doctor about it. How much do you think it'll cost for the repair?

There's no way to estimate the cost because there's so many factors involved and the true diagnosis is not known. It would be covered under insurance since it would be considered medically necessary.

Would it really be considered medically necessary? I mean, I'm pretty sure I can live with this. I don't want to but I could.

The term "medically necessary" is an insurance term that ultimately determines whether the policy will pay for a service.

For example, if your doctor recommended that you get your nose fixed, the insurance company would distinguish between a nose job to help your breathe (medically necessary) versus a nose job done to make your nose look better (cosmetic, not medically necessary). In this case, "medically necessary" doesn't mean that you must get your nose fixed, it just means that there is a medical reason that makes it eligible for you to file it on your medical insurance.

I have always wondered what I looked back there. So I tried taking a picture! I took one picture, and then my camera broke! Seriously. I guess it was that ugly. Actually, I'm not sure . . . I recharged the battery, but still doesn't work. Maybe it's the battery that's broken. But I was right . . . wasn't easy! I tried looking with a mirror after that, and I could kind of see a bit, but also was not easy.

Anyhow, I know very off-topic. Good luck with your medical issue.
