123 is normal or low considering eating prior to the test. Test it in the morning when you wake up. I think between 80 and 130 is normal. Don't get fat and lazy.

You have diabetes when it reaches 180-200mg/dl. You might want to see a doc or some kind of professional about any habits you have that may contribute to the development of diabetes. Just because your family has a history of diabetes doesn't mean you can't prevent it, or at least keep it managed, even if you have to completely change your lifestyle.

Most of your family probably has type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes has a big lifestyle component. It is not inevitable that you will get it.

It's not about food. It's about exercise and weight.

If you get in shape, exercise daily and keep your weight down, you will lower your chance of getting diabetes.

All sound advice so far. Your blood sugar will rise about an hour after you eat, and is always lowest when you wake up in the morning, usually.

Just follow karaBulut's advice and be aware that Type 2 diabetes could be in your future, but you can minimize those odds by adjusting your lifestyle.

123 is not a bad score at all. I've been diabetic for a couple of years, but have managed to control it with diet and exercise, no meds yet.

It's not a bad idea, however, to adjust your diet to favor foods that don't peak your sugar levels... things with fiber, fruit instead of fruit juice and sweet foods only together with a meal and not by itself.

Piggy-

As others have stated, the numbers you're getting are within normal range. My dr suggests my fasting sugar level should be between 80 and 120.

Simply testing your sugars once or twice isn't going to tell whether you're diabetic. Do you have other symptoms? Excessive thirst, frequent urination, sleepiness/insomnia, tired, moodiness, and the one that threw every dr I went to -itchiness. If you have a combination of those symptoms, I would suggest you make an appointment to be tested. Otherwise, at you next regular visit, mention your family history to your dr and ask him about the results you had when you tested.

Insomnia, tiredness, moodiness, and mostly headaches.

These are unlikely to be related to your diabetes based on the blood sugar numbers you have provided.

And the numbers you are getting aren't terribly high and probably nothing that would be treated at medication at this point. It might be advisable to revise your diet and exercise program at this point.

A trip to the doctors is of course advised for completeness.

It could be High Blood Pressure piggy, both run in my family.

But I got only the HBP, I got tested for diabetes and I am doing great!

I agree with the exercise, it helps with both. Although mine does not seem to get lower :(

One thing that I have found that is surprisingly easy to do, is eliminate added sugar. I don't add sugar to my coffee or tea; I use splenda. I almost never eat any processed sugars, like muffins or cupcakes. I much prefer fruit. Plus I avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup! If I'm going to drink a soda, it will be one that is natural. I may have to pay more, but I enjoy it all the more. About the only time I have Coke is when it is mixed with a little bourbon. :)
