Do people actually like Stevia?

I like stevia better than most sugar substitutes. I think there's also a difference between brands: there's one brand I like better than another.

I don't use either sugar or sugar substitutes very often, but every now and then I get a craving for ice cream, and then I'll make some with half the sugar replaced with stevia.

i like it in my coffee, one packet per cup. i found it in trader joes one day and decided to try it. it doesn't taste as sweet at equal or splenda to me, and i never noticed any after taste.

do people use it in place of sugar while baking? i would never think to do that not knowing how much to use. i just use sugar if a recipe calls for it....

as said above - it's NOT an artificial sweetner - the stevia plant is an herb (technically) and TRUVIA is on of the brands -- I use it , it's not a problem --
I use more EQUAL but should stick with the more natural product --

sidebar: not everybody can have sugar - so these "substitutes" are all that is available - that or nothing !

everybody's tastebuds are different !! duhhh
emphasis mine

Lightly sweet iced tea is a staple for me. The Sweetleaf concentrate has been a great product, with negligible taste deficiency for me.

All fake sugar tastes disgusting. It does not taste sweet at all to me.

I used Splenda for a long time (only 2 teaspoons a day in 2 mugs of coffee and occasionally on peanut butter and banana sandwiches) and then tried Stevia for a few months. It wasn't as sweet but it changed the flavour of my coffee, and it left an aftertaste. I'm back to using Splenda again.

As mentioned earlier, stevia is a plant extract. The problem is that it's extremely concentrated and almost always cut with something else to give it a familiar bulk so you can measure out a serving. Those fillers make up most of it. That's why there is a brand difference. It's often mixed with erythritol, a commonly used sugar alcohol that many people can't digest well. I found one supplier of pure extract. It's a little bit bitter, but we need a safe low carb sweetener and we're used to it. I also use the whole plant version in smoothies; it has some nutritional benefits.
