So anyway i was watching the film Parasite last night and one of the running themes in it was that poor people smelled differently from rich people, needless to say i think it's bollocks, well unless it's rough sleeping on the streets kinda poor.

Have any of you noticed the poor people give off an unsavoury smell ?

You mean like the "poor people are fuglier"?

I think the key concept is "new rich": that's the unsavoury species that gets people confused... and by "new rich", we agree it's the people who are less than, at least, a dozen generations "rich". You know, the sort of people who would call others "peasants", and strut and fret their cheapness on the social media and all that.

Maybe it all has to do with what they eat. There's a fart joke in there somewhere.

I watched the reviews and afew clips here and there.
Yes ''if'' there cloths are kept in the smelly place. My nose is very sensitive, thats why i can spell foreskins all the time LOL

. . . .

Very much so.
A lot of that, though, has to do with their clothes smelling like what goes on in the kitchen. Some of them smell like bags of cheap shredded cheese.

Also, most people around here never clean/wash their sweaty winter coats. By this time of year they're pretty damn ripe.

Yes they do smell different and it is because they tend to dry their clothes indoors on racks rather than in driers

specific groups of people do have smells - people of India smell like curry - Italians smell like garlic - and straight men smell like Aqua Velva

suppose if they can't afford a washing machine or a laundromat they will smell eventually.

You would have to be more specific as to what 'poor' is. Anyone might give off an unpleasant oder if the don't have access to a bath of some kind. Money doesn't wash away b.o.

OK, I'll bite.

One early saturday morning back in the summer we woke up early and decided to take the dogs out to the dog park. As we pulled into the parking lot, we saw a Porsche probably worth $200k. We were both like who the hell drives a dog in that?

When we went into the park area, there were about a dozen people there. We spotted a guy in the crowd. His hair was all nessed up. He hadn't shaved. He obviously just woke up and came straight to the park. Holding a coffee cup. But there was something about him that told both of us this guy was pretty successful. Sure enough, when he left he drove that Porsche away.

Successful people don't need to dress the part to look successful. So why not smell?

I'm not poor.

"Poor Vannie".

English is such a confusing language sometimes.

We also have a lot of rural poor who generally have a pall of stale cigarette smoke, deep fried foods and neglect clinging to their clothing.

But sometimes, the so called 'poor' only just smell of good hard work.

There's really no generalization... I've worked with rich clients and sincerely, some smell. some don't brush teeth and just use green tea to gargle.

I once worked with a couple from India. Me and everyone I worked with could not believe how their BO was so strong, but wouldn't tell them. One of the girls I worked with privately told them that they needed to shower more often. They were embarrassed and told her that in India they had no running water. They were embarrassed, apologized to everyone and assimilated. I am working with a Trustfund guy who likes to smell "manly" jussain

The title of this thread is so stupid... everybody smells.

You would have to be more specific as to what 'poor' is.

Net worth under €10M... more or less.

More precisely: under a readily available amount ("cash") of €10M, you are poor; from €10M to €1B, you are middle class; over €1B, you are 'rich'.

^ Oh, and, obviously, the money must be directly yours, no sugar kids, babies and the like are "rich", unless they generate and manage the money they spend and show on IG or whatever of the kind.

You're right. It's usually cigarettes or pot.

And the smell of grease/diesel/exhaust will cling to your clothes and skin
