I once worked with a couple from India. Me and everyone I worked with could not believe how their BO was so strong, but wouldn't tell them. One of the girls I worked with privately told them that they needed to shower more often. They were embarrassed and told her that in India they had no running water. Is "delish" an object-noun or an adjective there? Kind of like the confusing subject of this thread... adjective or verb?

English can be so confusing sometimes.

But sometimes, the so called 'poor' only just smell of good hard work.

But, then, there's the problem with inexpensive/affordable [poor people] clothing. Synthetics/polyesters/blends hold and even intensify odors. Smelly bacteria thrive on them.

And some low income people might have laundry practices that are less than optimal in order to save a few dollars--like using a cheap detergent that isn't very effective, or using nothing but ice cold water in the washing machine.

I have been low income for some time cry, but one area I'm careful to avoid too much compromise is with laundry. (For example, I might buy a well reviewed budget detergent, but I won't buy rock bottom detergent.) I figure that if the laundry doesn't come out clean and fresh, why bother even trying to wash it?
