Do straight guys wear rings on their thumb, first and middle fingers ?

iam sure some do i kinda want to wear a wedding band and see the reaction

Come to think of it, I've never known one to, but what do I know?

There was a time when I was convinced that straight men did not wear turquoise rings, either. Then, lo and behold, they became so fashionable that all sorts of guys worn them.

If you're thinking "This guy's gotta be gay because he's got rings on those fingers"...then no. I know at least one straight guy who wears rings there.

I have seen some high school student lately wearing rings on their thumbs, etc. Think most of them are str8 too.

I had no idea that wearing a ring on your thumb could possibly be a gay thing to do... but when I think about it, since I do, it must be *shock* :P

Couldn't a ring on thumb be a practical issue... perhaps the ring is too big to fit on any other finger?

So how true is the "one earring on the "gay" ear" thing?? Which ear is the gay ear anyway?? Is there anything behind it?

That hasn't been true since the 1980s. Not even then, actually. I remember in America it was supposed to be "left-ear-straight, right-ear-gay", but it was different in parts of the UK. Gary Numan said he got his right ear pierced back in 1978, knowing full well that was the "gay ear", because he liked making people wonder (yes, he's straight).

You don't get to be my age without observing that there is no fashion in masculine personal grooming, body adornment or clothing style that does not appear first in the gay sub-culture and then percolate down into straight society. By the time the fashion has become mainstream gay people are already creating the next best thing.

You'd be foolish to make any assumptions about a person's sexuality based on the way they look or what they wear.
