Many are silly child, consider these;
Plants and leafy greens:
*Rhubarb greens
*Brackenfern is edible when the rhizomes and unfurled prongs are roasted, otherwise they are toxic, but can also be used for animal stings.
*Finger cherry (causes blindness)
*White cedar fruit
*Brazilian nightshade, berries look nice but toxic
*Potato and Tomato leaves are apparently contain a mild toxin, never experienced it myself.

Fungi:
*Deathcap mushroom (good luck)
*Gold top mushroom
*Fly agaric mushroom

There are many many MANY more.

Troll...

I could jog out of town, and at the right times of the year bring back a half dozen things here that are very tidy toxins. The effects would range from quick, painless death to not-so-quick agonizing death, to explosive diarrhea, to uncontrollable muscle (major) tremors, to permanent kidney damage... and those are the ones I know! There are other that are edible, but dangerous if you don't know how -- e.g. some weeds that have herbicides on the bottom of their ground-level leaves, to eliminate the competition -- an herbicide that has a nasty result of vomiting right up to dry heaves (if you've never had dry heaves, you don't want to).

No they will still be toxic, its called survival of the fittest. Some plants evolve to grow in inhabitable conditions, others produce toxins to prevent themselves being eaten. Some animals will evolve to be able to eat them.

ie; the koala has developed a GI tract that can digest the toxins in eucalyptus leaves. It is VERY long and they sleep alot while they try to rid the toxins out. Humans don't have this developed GI tract, no matter how much you eat you won't magically be able to change and survive.

Look at the stomach system of cows, multiple chambers designed for digesting grass etc to actually get benefit out of it. Do you have this stomach system?

Stop trolling and go learn basic highschool biology and chemistry.

I followed your advice trolly bluboi and just ate a poinsettia and holly berry salad. (Tis' the season.)

Now I don't feel well. Maybe it's my body adjusting to living forever?

!oops!

lol, u all behave like theres poison growing all around us
the plants around us give us oxygen, they must be poison right o.o

Oxygen is actually corrosive and nasty stuff. We need it as fuel but it also ages us. Good thing it's diluted by other gases in our atmosphere.

yes, oxygen is so bad. we should get rid of it :O
lets destroy all plants with nuclear weapons, and move to sahara. no more aging and oxygen!

No, i said we'r killing ourselves with the food we eat, medicines we take and the war we participate in.
Yes, maybe living completley with nature would grant us eternal life, or something more spiritual xD
and there's no swine flu in plants afaik =D

Maybe no swine flu but plants die hard from Cylindrocladium and they go fast from healthy to a complete mess within hours. Its ugly I tell you. Its a rot you be grateful we don't get because it can take down a legion before the next sunset on a humid summer evening.

<-- is waiting for the OP to actually be the subject of this post. Seems inevitable, though I have lost my confidence in natural selection. Too many life saving things these days.

i heard lack of water and cold enviroment causes dry/dead plants, dunno why tho O_O

yes, i know internet is not really the best place to trust people, but what i did was just shared my experience xD

now my question to you, why can we eat salads but not grass if we can not digest cellulose?
