Sadly, I think the plan would be to kill them...

Think of how happy the military-industrial complex would be if endless war on earth could be expanded to outer space.

well, the question was: what would happen if there was a contact, a message received from an obviously smart species - not an Independence Day scenery.
A message that has travelled several lightyears - it would be a message from the past and we`d have a lot of time to respond.

Would the receiver ( USA, China, Russia, India, Europe etc.) share it with the world..? Or keep it and try to have an advantage of it..?
