Nope, not at all. And even if I did .. the few dreams that I remember are usually so weird and fucked up that I would spend weeks trying to figure out what they mean ;)

I dream about going back to school to school a lot, especially the first day and I am running around trying to find a class or a locker. I would be so frustrated, worried I'll be late, and the dream would last so long that it makes me dizzy! Its weird because I have no intentions of going back to school. Also, I live in Hawaii now and none of the schools have lockers.

Have you guys looked up in dream dictionaries when you remember a dream. Most of the time thy hit it on the nail.

I have an aunt scares me sometimes, 99% of what she dreams comes true. She says that she doesn't like to dream because sometimes it is bad news like a death in the family or someone close to her.

It happened to me once. I had a dream about my mother and it happened exactly as I dreamt the next morning. It was freaky.

considering the number of dreams i've had of my own demise over the last year, i really hope not....

I guess you'll never know if it really was prophetic unless you return to school for art history :p

Your memory is a big file system. When you're dreaming, your brain is doing a defrag in the background and moving data from short term to long storage as well as deleting junk data and emptying the recycle bin. You get all kinds of weird stuff as the data gets sorted and moved around. Dreams are overrated. They're just data management operations.

When I dream about Wednesdays Powerball numbers, and they're right, then I'll believe in prophetic dreams.

I've had prophetic dreams many times but they're usually about mundane stuff so I guess it's all just coincidental that they come true.

You may already have, and just never realized. Since we forget the majority of details of our dreams, you could have had your chance many times and just never been able recall.

thats interesting, a big computer system in the brain. :)

Prophetic, no...

Interpretive, yes.

There's been many a day where I spent most of my time combing over a dream I remembered to see how I could figure out if it had any deeper meaning to it than what was presented at face value.

Usually, there is.

tbh I've had a few before, runs in the family.

and a friend of mine just had one about the second coming which makes me scratch my head, but to be fair she's really Scottish and Christ enthused.

she said it was really lucid, apocalypse, anti Christ and death.

the usual.

If my dreams are 'prophetic', then we ALL are in trouble.....

I dream of tornadoes and fires and planes falling from the sky....

Yeah. I know, I'm insane. But, what can I tell you ? Those are my dreams.

I think it's just a lack of somebody to hold on to...

This world of ours can be scary.

The short answer is "yes."

A longer answer is: for most of us, most of the time, they are not particularly useful or important beyond providing us something to think "how the hell does THAT work?" about.

There were periods in my life when I had frequent precognitive dreams--something would happen and it would remind me of a dream from the night before, and then events would play out in the same exact way. I've had various experiences of traditional déjà vu as well, but I'm not entirely convinced either of these phenomena are anything more than neurons misfiring through the memory centers of my brain, creating a false sense of remembrance.

Same thing with me. Most of my dreams are really symbolic, If I can remember the dreams when I wake up I can usually interpret their meaning and they give me insights on myself and events from my waking life.

Anyone, ever have lucid dreams? I have lucid dreams alot and it's always awesome to have them.
