Nahh. I think most people just settle for whatever's most easily available.
Nahh. I think most people just settle for whatever's most easily available. That'd at least explain why my boyfriend is still with me.
I think love is a mix of magic and commitment. It strikes me as utterly unromantic when people say that love is merely hard work and commitment.
Yes, you work hard at building a relationship with someone else, but if there's no underlying pull that brings you together, what's the point? I could never see myself with someone I'm attracted to and simply making the decision to "work hard" at making it a relationship as if it were some sort of job promotion or college course.
True love may be hard work, but there has to be a basis for bringing two people together other than hard work.
If that's overly romanticized, I'm fine living in an overly romanticized world.
When you do, whatever force love is... it pulls you in like a magnet or a force of gravity.
You want to be with that person and it is mutually felt that way... true love is never one sided.
It is like a mirror... you come together and do everything in your power to make that person happy and he would do the same...
like in a mirror.
true love is finding yourself again and really loving yourself I think, feel.
I used to when I was younger... now, not so much.
I agree with many of the above comments but really... its many things and defined by each person's own belief.
It is an ideal that has been nurtured along through; song, poems, art, books, film and so on... for centuries.
For me though, the way I used to look at it;
True love is when two soul mates find each other and they know that they have found that one person.
Its like being lost for awhile and knowing that out there somewhere... he is looking for you and you find each other.
When you do, whatever force love is... it pulls you in like a magnet or a force of gravity.
You want to be with that person and it is mutually felt that way... true love is never one sided.

No. Because true love is perfect and nothing is perfect in this world![]()

true love, meaning attraction beyond sex or any physical thing?
Your thread title is different than your original post.
Do I believe in attraction beyond sex? Of course. Do I believe in romantic love that does not involve the physical? No.
Do I believe in true love? No.
That would mean there is untrue love. And I don't believe in telling people what is love and what isn't.
Love is far from perfect. It's ironic. Evil. Unfair. Tragedies. Sacrifices. Painful. Joyful. Remorseful. Aggravating. Gives a false sense of security. Envious. Guilt. Embarrassing. Messy. Pleasurable. Forgiving. Unforgiving. Compromising. Uncompromising. Passionate. Violent. Unfair. ...
It starts fights, wars, works of art, poems and songs are devoted to it. People long for it... some die without it. Some kill for it. Some never find it. If you look for it you won't find it, yet it can sneak up and bite you at any time. It can be true or false. You can be in it and not know it, or you can think you are and not be.
Of all ways to describe it, love is anything but "perfect".
I really find this as an awesome explanation of love, haha.
Also, yes I believe in true love.
