It's always talked about so much Do you believe in Zodiac signs? Do you date people or become people friends based on signs?



I think it’s a stupid way of thinking. How can positions of planets effect your personality ??
 
For some strange reason, people seem to fit their Zodiac personality. That being said, I do not believe in horoscope predictions.
 
I don't believe in the newspaper horoscopes. They're too general and can apply to anything. Eventually, random luck says they'll be right sometimes. Does my sign (Leo) fit my personally. I don't know. Some characteristics do, some don't. I'm a couple of days from Virgo and some have said I'm more Virgo than Leo, but again it is just random luck. It would be interesing to have a horoscope done based specifically for me by someone who knows what they're doing to see how it fits. It would interesting, but I'm not interested enough to actually pay $ to have it done. So it probably won't happen.
 
To give a slightly pedantic answer, l believe in zodiac signs, but not in astrology which is complete bollocks.
 
Some random thoughts

From my general observation, it appears there is something to the Zodiac, as people seem to act and have personalities in line with their astrological sign. But beyond generalities, it doesn't seem to tell you a whole lot about individuals' character.

There are good and bad people under all 12 astrological signs.

I find that when I read or hear astrological predictions, I get a sense that they tend to limit your freedom, or at least believing in them tends to limit your freedom.

One problem is astrology is similar to a criticism leveled at classical psychoanalysis: They are both systems which explain what you see in a person, no matter what you're given. For example, if a person's zodiac sign doesn't explain a trait or behavior very well, then you can look for the explanation in the person's rising sign, or in the position of any of the planets, how the planets are aligned in relation to each other, whether something is badly aspected, etc. You're bound to find something in a person's chart somewhere that explains it, no matter what it is that you're trying to explain.
 
^ take a random person you know fairly well, but you don’t know their birthday, can you guess their sign? I bet not and if you did it would just be by chance and nothing else.

don't know if I believe in them but as a Gemini I have had a lot of luck with Capricorns.

I believe in it, But with it I believe that the closer you get to the next sign the more of that sign you take on like I'm straight up Taurus, my dad was born in May closer to Gemini and he definitely had more the Gemini personality!
 
Oh, of course I believe in Zodiac signs. They were named by people many centuries ago. Earlier humans looked up into the night sky and saw or imagined patterns that were fitting for the clusters of stars that they saw, and they gave names to those clusters. The names are for these clusters of stars which of course still exist to this day, and there's twelve of these named clusters which appear at a certain position in the night sky in different month-long intervals of the year.

Now, whether astrological signs AFFECT our lives at all, I'm more skeptical, but the question only asked if I believe in the signs, i. e. I read it as "Do these signs exist"...

Yeah, for sure: there are a number of different threads where we initially experienced the shared happiness, perhaps even nice tears, seeing that Cormac is back!

What about people who live deep in the Southern Hemisphere (such as southern Patagonia and southern New Zealand), where some of these signs are never visible?

No, I tend to not believe in using Zodiac signs in predicting things, but every once in awhile when one seems to be accurate it makes me pause. I think that it is possible that some stars, or the moon which affects tides, can have some effect on some people, but I don't think that there is any way to predict what this is and it would be subtle more like moods.
