So, I know a couple of people who do their own hair. I find it interesting especially those with the longer hair. Well, I recently bought hair clippers, and I decided it would be better if I just did my own hair.

My problem is that my hair isn't as even as it is when done by a professional :p But I guess that comes with practice.

So, does anyone cut their own hair?

Yep, but I need someone to make the bottom of the back of my hair even.

*Opps I forgot, I use clippers.

I have known some people who cut their own hair. It usually looks like they cut their own hair.

I go to a place a few blocks down... a men's hair studio. I keep mine pretty short and could probably go a bit shorter and just use clippers, or go to a cheap barber... but I like the place I go to.

I stopped going to barbers when I started having anxiety attacks. That was back in the mid-80s.

The only one I allow to cut my hair into a mohawk is me. Not paying for that.

When I want a pro cut, I go to a pro.

One of the benefits of being married to a hair stylist -- you get a free haircut every three weeks without having to go to the salon! lol!

I do sometimes go to his salon when I get some color added or am picking him up from work. It also saves having to sweep up the hair!

My roomie cuts my hair. We even have an old school barber chair we picked up on the side of the road lol.

Well, for guys that just have a buzzed look or long hair that need their tips trimmed are easier to lear to do it yourself. I wish I could cut my hair cause I hate spending $25 every 3 weeks on haircuts. It's no different than having a smoking habit--constant dollars down the drain.

i tried once but i couldn't get my bangs straight and even.

I did my boyfriend's hair the last time he needed a cut... mind you the scissors we have turned out to be duller than shit.. and the clippers kept getting clogged lol. it didn't turn out bad, but if we had scissors I could have made it look better.

We're on OSAP, and kind of out of money until September, and he just wanted it cut to keep cool in the heat... so he asked me to do it. Saved us a few bucks, and when he puts gel in it it actually looks pretty good.

i have really thick full wavy hair so cutting imperfections don't show up as much, so cutting my own hair is something i have done.

i think i have given myself some of the best hair cuts i have had.

but it's nice to splurge on a 65 dollar haircut, and get properly sectioned for a shear cut with a glass of champagne in my hand.

Yes I do! I dreaded paying for hair cuts. I bought a nice wahl set a couple years ago and didn't use it that much. But at the start of summer, working outside in the hot weather, long hair was a hassle. I finally busted out my clippers and have been cutting it every weekend all the way down to a 1/4 inch. But when I grow it out again, I'll have to start paying for hair cuts. For now though...free haircuts =D

Where do you go for that? I go to John Barrett and I don't even get champagne...

i went to sugar laboratories salon here in portland for the champagne, otherwise bishops hair gives you a miller's high life before any service

I kind of want to do that. Especially since I'm growing out my hair finally. But that seems hard to do. The back, at least and the side....any tips?

Yep. Haven't paid for a haircut in about four years. Pretty easy since all I do is buzz it.
