In the mornings when there is a bit of a chill in the air.
 
At night on a cool or cold evening sitting by a fire having a good conversation with friends!
 
If we have no chores or errands to do in the morning it's a nice treat and when we're watching our favorite show on TV at night it's a great dessert after dinner.
 
Drinking anything before bed does not help me sleep. I just makes me have to wake up and get up to pee two hours later.
 
Hot chocolate is good at ANY time of day. And when it's too hot for hot chocolate, I love a cold glass of Ovaltine.
 
It'll be in the morning mixed with a wee bit of coffee to wake me up, but only once in a while. Caffeine is not for me anymore. :(

Otherwise it would be at night after I come in from shoveling 12 inches of snow off the driveway. Nothing warms you back up like hot cocoa and/or chicken soup on a cold north Idaho winters night.

Yes. Sometimes in the afternoon. Especially a cold and rainy/snowy winter afternoon while snuggling naked with my partner in front of a roaring fire in the hearth.

Yep. We're sitting naked on the sofa with the heat of the fire warming us. Snow is falling lightly outside, but the shades are drawn on the windows. Other than the fire, the only light comes from a few judiciously placed candles. We slowly sip our cocoa (his with marshmallows, mine without). We set the cups down and turn toward each other as he slides onto his back. I lean over him as he wiggles his ankles up beside his ears and.....

Well, you get the picture!

I usually only have cocoa during the winter. Mostly after shoveling snow or when the weather is so bad I dont want to go out but just want to watch a movie.
