Dollars (of whatever country), euros, pounds (of whichever country)... yuan, yen... any currency.

Feel free to interpret the quantities as fractional currency too

I only have less than £10 on me if I plan to go to the fresh food market. It is about the only place that doesn't accept cards

Always.
I usually keep about $200 on me for the week.
I only use the cards for large purchases or getting things from the interwebz.

Yes, I always carry some cash. I don't like to use a credit card for daily purchases. I use one for clothes, the internet, and things I didn't expect to buy and aren't prepared for.

I have no use for it.

Unless I should carry a couple of coins for the ferryman just in case I come across a dead body in the woods?

Don't you mean carry a couple of coins for the ferryman just in case you end up as a dead body in the woods?

What am I supposed to do, hang them from my hat and hope they land on my eyes?:)

I don't carry cash on me. I usually put it in my wallet, which I put in my pocket.

Smart ass comments aside... I still use cash, Partly this is to do my part to keep it relevant--I don't want to see a totally cashless society. Then, I do a certain amount of shopping at a local thrift store, and by using cash, they don't have to pay credit card processing fees, which means they have a bit more money to fund their mission. Admitteldy, it's not a lot of extra money, but it does add up...

I will get about $150 from the machine and 4 months later still have about $100 left in my wallet.

But I learned my lesson one time when the interac and credit card system went down and we needed gas while travelling.

Always. With a credit card it is easy to make frivolous purchases. When you have to peel off the bills to make a purchase you think twice.

If the purchase totals $ 30 or less, I'll always pay cash. Credit Cards are for substantial expenditures. Debit Cards are for obtaining cash  And, I still pay most bills & invoices with a written check (either by hand or printed out thru my Quicken software)

Yes, I always have cash in case e-payment doesn't work but it are still the same notes & coins from before covid.
