For all of you extolling the virtues of going commando, let me point something out. In nudist and naturist circles, the etiquette is that you bring your own towel to sit on while you go au naturel. That's the main reason I usually don't go commando, and also sleep with my underwear on (but no pajama).

I don't know any naturists very well (nudism seems more American) apart from an exhibitionist or three (and those are a different kind of animal).

I do visit nude beaches and the clothing optional meadow in Amsterdam (which doubles as a cruising area, because it's almost exclusively men), but then we also always take our own clothes or towels with us.

In the Phoenix men's sauna in Cologne I was not sitting on my towel in the bar/restaurant area so they asked me to correct that, but only there.
