  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Do you ever talk to yourself?

I try not to.............I know it will only lead to an argument.

Usually I talk to the cat, and then respond to myself using a different voice, as if the cat is responding.

"So, where should I go for lunch, cat?"
"Maybe you should get off your ass and actually make something, ya freak."
"Good idea, cat."

My cat has a bit of an attitude.

Yes. I mostly do it while playing video games. My boyfriend always asks who I am talking to.

Are you talking to yourself, or the game?

I talk to games on a regular basis -- especially when stupidity happens like a band of warriors armed with bronze swords takes out an armored tank squad.

Yes, I do...

They say that people who talk to themselves have lots of money. I wish that saying were true.....:D

If I had lots of money, I'd talk to it, not to myself. I'd tell it what great things it was going to accomplish for people.

I've heard this before.

Yes I talk to myself all the time, way too much, more when I am stressed out. Long time ago I got up and got ready for work and went to work. The first person I met, I tried to say "good morning" and my voice croaked. I realized that a person should warm up their vocal chords in the morning before they try to talk to others. That's not the reason I talk to myself though. It helps me remember things I need to do to say them out loud. Also it can be stress related as well.

Yes! Doing your mental checklists out loud makes them more effective.

Sometimes I get words stuck in my head and I have to say them out loud make myself feel better :þ

Out loud? Not much. But there's always a party going on up there it seems...

I remember now where I first heard that saying. It was from my fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Weinkauf. She was so cool and laid back in that 1970s way. She would catch me talking to myself occasionally, and tell me that! I think there is a little of her in my teaching style too...:D

im not really sure if i talk to myself, but sometimes i say my thoughts out loud...
it can get really disturbing too if im thinking of a horror movie idea.
