While I don't disagree, the issue is that people only comment when they are saved by their inner voice. No one comments on the time their inner voice has warned them against something and nothing bad happened.

Imagine if your friends plane did not crash, but he still got the train - would he have reported the event.

I'll take my chances following the guidance of my inner voice, without exception... on the assumption that on the one occasion I do not follow the advice of my inner voice...the plane crashes...there being no further chance to temp fate
