Sometimes, yes.

It's a double-edged sword...definitely.

If it didn't exist, I would sure as hell get a lot more stuff done than I do...on the other hand its existence POSSIBLY saved me from an eventual business failure, as I am now able to reach customers I would have never found in the past. I had been experiencing attrition, with no reliable way to replace those people with new customers, but that has changed in a big way.

But maintaining a website is a goodly amount of extra work, as well.

^^^
like he sead
i see how useful it can be
research, networking and porn
but honestly people have corrupted its use, so many illegal things happen online and its impossible to to stop (horrible things O.o), plus i procrastinate so much via internet

As one who lived most of his life without the internet, NO!

Sure some things were cooler before the internet, like hooking up with guys, walking around downtown window shopping, looking things up in a real book, stuff like that.

But so much more is better, faster and easier in the web-verse...

I only voted yes because the question asked "Do you EVER..." which means that my occasional (though rare) thoughts of "YES" require a yes vote.

I certainly have friends who I wouldn't have without the Internet, even including in this small thread.

So what in the hell am I STILL doing up, and on the Internet, at this absurd hour? LOL

i dunno ive been online for years and feel like there's really nothing to do on it anymore. why do you ask?

Not at all! I can live without it, but I'd prefer not to.

Good heavens no! How else would I get to see naked men?

But seriously, no. Of course with every good thing there's always a downside, but such is life :D

Edit: Also, what Travis said ;) ..|

Sloppy, this is so true

On Topic: I've had internet service for 11 months now, and I love it

One of the things that I like about it is how fast you can get breaking news articles

an example, I subscribe to certain archaeological magazines which I'm now going to let lapse...I'm now able to get new info on digs from the Internet months before it hits print

well a one a can a hope it speed up in one day what take 50000 years fa da MAN ta figure out
Yes No yes yes no

A LOTTTT of people would be a hell of a lot less shy in public, that's for sure!!

Yes. But not because I think there's anything essentially bad about the internet. I like it.

I just feel greedy when contemplating other ways of life. It's not practical, but I would love to live in various situations...say, an old farmhouse, or a humble apartment in a big city...that wasn't wired. I enjoy my imagination and there was no pre-internet unanswered question that brought my life to a halt.

Not really; I love the net. :D

But I am glad that I grew up years before the web existed, and spent the previous 40 years having a real-life in the real-world. ..|
