Do you ever worry you've offended someone unwittingly?

Chris, I think possibly offending someone is probably a much bigger deal to you than the other party. If you did even remotely offend someone, then if they really know you, they have to know it was unintentional. Try not to dwell on it so much. If the person seems 'off' a bit, just ask what's bothering them. You don't have to make it look like it's all about you. If you're the reason, they will tell you when you ask what's up.

It's probably just paranoia, G'mo. I get that way very easily. But I really appreciate all of you saying that if anyone knows me well enough, they should know I'd never deliberately hurt or offend someone. Believe me, if I'm ever pissed off enough to deliberately offend someone, they're gonna know it. They will know when I'm doing it on purpose.

I have to take my roommates mother to get her hair done today because there's not gonna be anyone else around to do it

I am NOT going to enjoy this, sitting in a salon with a bunch of females with their hair in curlers, reading magazines and talking about their husbands and kids while taking in the fumes from perms and hairspray.

I think I'll just drop her off and go do some shopping (she's getting a perm so she'll probably be there for a couple of hours) and just have her call me on my cell when she's done.

I'll get my roomies for taking off for the day and leaving me to do this, oh yes I will.

Yes, and I agree with that. I'm sure I've offended a few as well because, like you said, we can't help how we feel about certain things. I speak my mind and say what I'm thinking or how I feel. And although I tend to stay out of the 'heavier' discussions (mostly because I don't feel I'd have anything intelligent to add) if something hits a nerve with me, then I'll speak up.

We can't 'tiptoe' on glass everywhere we go. And I realize there are many different personalities here and we all handle things differently and what one person finds offensive, another person may not. Like, for example, if a sick joke is posted; some may think it's hilarious, some are going to hit you over the head for even posting such a thing.

Everyone is different. However, if I say something that may offend someone, 99% of the time it isn't intentional. If I WANT to offend someone intentionally, they'll know it.
