  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Do you go to your local LGBT/Queer film festival?

I was only able to make it to one of the nights at Portland's festival last year. The films I did see, "Ready? OK!" and "Save Me", were both fantastic. If you haven't seen it, check out "Ready? OK!". It is absolutely adorable.

Hopefully I'll be able to make it out for the entire festival this year.

As far as I know, there isn't one...But I likely would go if there were.

I know the short movie channel here has a 1/2 hour, pretty much every night, devoted to Gay & Lesbian short movies. Sometimes they're pretty good, other times...well.

The only real problem is the channel has a banner at the bottom of the screen, explaining what is on screen and what will be on screen next. This usually interferes with foreign movies as it blocks subtitles.

We don't have one, but I should look into it; I know the owner of the local theatre well enough (our families have gone to the same church for as long as I can remember).

Oh, I should add that I have had "Queer as Folk" and "L-word" marathons at my house with many straights (and no, not all of them were female or lopsided when "The L-Word" was playing. lol

We don't have that persay, but we do have a film festival yearly & it shows Very many gay films & i'll see the 1 that appeals to me

No. But I don't see any of the mainstream films, either, so I guess it all works out.

Sometimes I do film festivals.

Generally speaking, it's very good that many films never reach the mainstream.

We do have one. But I forgot when it is.

I think it was during the fall last year.

At capulets they had these little film things at the register that said when the date was. I'm sure it will be in the fall again this year. I definitely want to go if it doesn't conflict with school.
