  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

do you hate any "normal" foods?

^Actually, yes, they are unfortunately too sweet. Even ants die from them  O.O

I can't fucking stand smoked oysters. I once ate three tins in one sitting and puked them all up.

I don't see how in the world people eat them RAW. I can deal with "fried oysters" but the taste is still "strange".... It's one seafood item that MIGHT make it to my plate once every 15yrs...

I hate lasagna...

Since you don't like lasagna is it safe to say you hate Spaghetti as well? You can't like one and not the other...I happen to make the best lasagna in the State of South Carolina...

I detest olives, cucumbers, brussel sprouts, squash, okra and watermelon.

The only kind of pork I'm a fan of is bacon.

Oh! Thousand island dressing is grotesque. Ew.

That's not true, since I despise lasagna and LOVE spaghetti.

In my opinion it's impossible to Despise one and Love the other...The ONLY real differences between both dishes is the cheese used, the shape of the noodles and the way the dish is cooked or baked...

You can add vegetables, cheese(s) or tone it down completely but Lasagna & Spaghetti are Brother and Sister....

i will eat anything. i come from trash so i never had the luxury to do the whole "ew, not touching that." it was always an eat your whole damn plate or i'll beat you blue situation.

there are two things though and only two things i really don't like.

fresh tomatoes & avocado.

In short, I can love someone's brother and completely abhor their sister.

I'm flexible like that.

Raw white/yellow onions
Raw celery
Stuffed Peppers of any sort make me want to hurl.

That's about it for me. I like a wide variety of foods.

To the people who dislike mushrooms : Are we talking about white domestic button mushrooms or wild mushrooms or both?

You could say I'm a picky eater because there is a lot of things I won't eat. But it's not because of taste or texture, it's because It's not healthy for you or its fattening.

But there are two flavors that I can't stand, Anise like in black liquorish and Saffron.

Well I dislike tofu, cilantro(reminds me of the smell of dried, decaying grass), any kind of sprouts like bean or alfalfa, and the only canned veggies I will eat are tomatos, corn and peas. The rest of canned veggies like beans or spinach are yucky. Oh yeah the only way I will eat okra is fried.

Common root vegetables: turnips and parsnips. Other veggies are okay.

Catfish: they're bottom feeders and the whiskers gross me out!

Man, this thread depresses me, and now I want to eat more pita bread with kalamata olive spread and goat cheese out of defiance (I wish I could incorporate cilantro in that, but I have to be realistic).

Seconded. When I encounter a food I think I dislike, I try to find a way to enjoy it. I almost always do.

If you can indulge my braggodocio I recently learned to enjoy natto. The first time I ate it I thought it was disgusting. The second time, I found it tolerable. After my third styrofoam tray I'd started to enjoy it. Now, I think natto is yummy. C'mon, somebody eat some with me!

Onions! Worst smelling thing on the face of the Earth...

Pork (except Pepperoni)
Baked Beans
Coconut
Melon
Cantaloupe
Raw Onions
Those are the main ones,There are probably some other shitty foods I hate, but can't think of them right now.

Melons! Oh shit I totally forgot melons (and cantaloupes---watermelons do nothing to me).

I'm one of the fussiest eaters you'll ever meet...

There is a long list of things I just can't stand, but here's a nice abridged version, in no particular order:

Mustard
Pickles
Beets
Green Peppers
Green Onion
Onion
Plain lettuce (can only stomach it with salad dressing, never on a sandwich though)
Mushrooms
Olives
Beans (all kinds)
Tomato (only chunks or slices, I do enjoy ketchup and other tomato products)
Kiwi
Cantaloupe
Mayonnaise
Any form of seafood (Fish [all varieties], crab, lobster, oysters, shrimp, etc.)

I can stop there...

I posted above that I don't like sweet potatoes/yams.

I should clarify a bit...I'll eat them, but I put them on a scale of maybe "3" on the 0 to 10 dislike-like scale. In other words, something that I don't particularly care much for, but eating them isn't a deal-breaker.

INTERESTINGLY, it occurred to me that I don't much care for another thing that "rhymes with yam" either - HAM. Also about a 3...or maybe aboue 3 1/2 on that scale.

I'll eat almost anything, and have done over the years, from raw witchetty grub (you bite the head off, and suck the innards out, and they're delicious), to durian (which is often described as like eating onion ice-cream in an open sewer - well, I love it), pretty much every meat, including offal. I made a great kangaroo-tail stew once.

However, the only foods I acticvely dislike and avoid are melons. Watermelons are sticky and annoying; canteloupe to me just smells off.

I'm not a big fan of bread. I mean, I like burgers, subs, and sandwiches, but I throw alof of other shit in, to distract from the bread.

Starting to develop a real revulsion towards peanut butter. I take care of my disable mom, and she friggin' LOVES peanut butter sandwiches. Like sometimes she'll actually ask me to fix her THAT instead of cooking her a real meal. Getting really sick of the smell, and I CANNOT STAND when I get some on my fingers. Really sucks when the jar's running low, and u gotta stick your damn hand all up in there, to scoop out a good amount.

Soft marshmellows are just disgusting to me. I like the marshmellows in my cocoa, and OF COURSE my Lucky Charms(that shit is SO BOMB!!!), but the regular, soft & squishy ones freak me right out:eek:

Hate cooked fruit, so I don't like most pies. Why people go so crazy over apple pie, I'll never understand.
