Do you have a favorite carnival ride?

If so what is it’s name.

Back before carnivals became money suckers I use to ride “The Sea Dragon” (a ship that swings back and forth) for hours whenever it would be in town.

I also had a thing for “The Round Up” just because I liked that I had to stand to ride it.

Mutual handjobs used to be fun on the double Ferris Wheel....

But that was a LONG time ago..... ;)

Tilt-A-Whirl was always an unpredictable ride. But often it would do mostly tilting with very little whirling which made it boring. All tilt and no whirl - kind of like some of my old boyfriends.

I always loved the double ferris wheel although I never tried it with the hand job addition suggested by Joshua! lol!

I also used to love the Round-Up and Pirate (like the Sea Dragon only bigger). I am also a coaster lover and enjoy going to Cedar Point or Kings Dominion. Only problem is Barry likes to go on them more than I and my stomach can't take them like it used to! lol!

Move it over dad 'cause I'm a double-dipper!
Upside down on the zip-zip-zipper
1,2,1,2,3, I′ve got a ticket so ride with me
Mary go down on the merry-go-round
All is fair on the fair ground
Love go slow, love go fast
Licorice twist gonna whip your ass

^ The rescuers would have needed more manpower than there is room on the ladder to have pried me from that tub....... :help::help::help:

"Sea Dragon" is definitely a good one, especially if you can find one that goes upside-down! ;)

But I think my favorite is the classic Tilt-A-Whirl. There's nothing like packing as many friends as you can into a car, synchronizing your leans to the left/right, and getting into that perfect death-spin that inevitably results in someone puking their guts out. ..|

I'm with you. The Tilt-a-Whirl had a great combination of chaos and control. You could influence it, but you couldn't (at least if you were a nerd boy like me) control it completely. To me that's what makes a ride exciting. I never felt sick on it.

These days I have a strong preference for a ride whose name I can't remember. It's composed of slats of wood (usually painted green) attached to a metal frame that's bolted to the concrete.

Oh, yeah, it's called a "bench." ;)

I find it funny quite a few of you guys have said The Tilt-a-Whirl. I have heard the name before, but I have never seen one.

I live just a couple of miles from where our state fair takes place, which is seven or so carnivals together. I would think I would have seen one by now.

It makes me wonder if we call another ride The Tilt-a-Whirl
