Do you have a favorite Vegas hotel and casino?

I love The Flamingo. I love the history there. Oldest casino on The Strip.

Never been, not a great gambler, what Hotel/Casino would you recommend for there entertainment ?

Uber camp, so more Celine Dion than Donny And Marie.

There is a lot to do from food to concerts to attractions to shows, etc.

Here are a couple of my trip reports to give you an idea of what I do. If you take the time and read them (they are long) tell me exactly what kind of things you are into?

Being in your 20's though most people would say you would probably like Planet Hollywood or The Cosmo (if you have money!) best as a home base. However everything is easy to get to from anywhere.

You would love Vegas. My family doesn't get why I like it since I don't really gamble, drink, smoke, party, etc., but the place is a blast if you ever get the chance.

I agree. I don't do any of the above either but I LOVE Vegas too. Just walking up and down the strip in the evening, hitting the thrift stores, flea markets and pawn shops during the days is all I want to do. I've stayed at a tiny little shack called the Downtowner. Very bare bones but clean, safe and down town, which is the place to be for me. I've also stayed at the Stratosphere and the Flamingo.

Many people like the city and all that it offers.

Do not be offended, but I do not care for Las Vegas. Just my personal opinion. I might enjoy it if I got out of the city.

You sir are dead to me!

That's OK. :(

It's just not my particular cup of tea.

I have a lovely cup of Earl Grey, hot. Wanna share?

No thanks. I have tried it. Not my thing. lol

The mountains, valleys and desert around Vegas is beautiful. If you ski or hike you would probably like it. I rode an ATV by Nellis Air Force Base and had a blast.

I've never been to Vegas and I doubt I ever will. It strikes we as representing the worst kind of crass consumerism.

I don't think I'd visit anywhere in the US for history. They don't have any!

Come to Philadelphia. I'll prove you wrong.

But Las Vegas is the only major American city founded in the 20th century.

I haven't been to Vegas in years. I have to go to complete my bucket list of seeing a game in every NHL arena (I've been to 21 of the current 31). In fact, I'm watching the game from Vegas on TV now.

But I know my way around Atlantic City's casinos. I feasted at the Palace Court Buffet at Caesars last Thursday and recently stayed at Harrah's and Tropicana. And two casinos open there next month: the Hard Rock (in the old Trump Taj Mahal, but my AC sources tell me it's completely redone) and Ocean Resort (in the old Revel).

Casino gambling began in Atlantic City 40 years ago this month.
