  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Do you have an odd way of eating 'normal' foods?

I get to respond to a Christopher123 thread! Have not done that in too long a while.

I normally eat one thing at a time. Usually the green / yellow veggie first, salad, whatever - then the potato, if any - then the main dish.

I do not like casseroles as everything is already messed up.

I even eat the Chex mix one type at a time.

Don't give me peanuts. They'll probably end up being chucked in the air, one by one, and I'll run around trying to catch them in my mouth.

Footnote : This thread is like a stroll down JUB memory lane. Chris123 and a food thread. :-)

I like stir fried lettuce.

Cut the iceberg lettuce into quarters, remove the heart/stalk but, wash then heat a little oil in a wok, add a crushed clove of garlic, a sprinkling of salt and stiry fry until the leaves start to go translucent. Serve. If you cook them too long, they loose that firmness and crunch. You're aiming to have them just cooked, but crunchy still not a soggy wet wilted mess.

I used to have an odd way of drinking ginger ale. I'd pour it in a glass, throw in a straw and stick a piece of peppermint bubble gum on the end of the straw. The gum would bubble up with ginger ale until it bursted in my mouth..| Good times. Unfortunately it only worked with a specific brand of gum that I did it with, but they don't sell it anymore.

Also have a special way of serving those Stouffers individual Lasangnas. I like to throw on a layer of xtra cheese while it's still frozen. The xtra layer ends up burning to a crisp while the lasagna's cooking. I take it out of the 'wave, eat the black and crispy layer of cheese, then finish cooking the lasagna. Only way I'll eat it.

When i was younger I had a thing for melted butter on Shredded Wheat Cereal. I'd put 'em on a plate, spread butter on 'em and nuke 'em. Couldn't stand it as an actual cereal though.

Yeah, me and my food, huh? ;)

I eat nearly everything with silverware. I find touching food kinda... gross. Sandwiches, raw vegetables/fruit (except mellons) are my exception. I eat fries with a fork.

Oreos, I open them and eat the icing first and then eat each half of the cookie by putting it in my mouth and sucking the air out of it and then chewing it using my tongue and the roof of my mouth. This is the only way I each hard cookies.

I always cut my apples in fours and my pancakes into six pieces.

I still don't know why.

I like to drizzle a little balsamic vinegar on an ass before I eat it.

I drink yogurt with a straw.

On a side note dealing with yogurt...if anyone has seen Burn Notice my name is oddly similar to the protagonists name and I am also an avid yogurt eater. Thought it was just strange.

Also, I can't eat pasta+sauce without having a little sour cream on it. I can eat pasta+butter+ Parmesan though.

A friend thought it was odd that I flipped a cheeseburger upside down before starting to eat. I never noticed until this past weekend. Guess I prefer the dome part of the burger bun to be on the bottom end.
