  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
    Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Do you have any scars?

I have one small one on my chin that is only noticeable when I haven't shaved for a couple of days, since no hair grows from that line. One of many childhood injuries, mostly all small and not noticeable unless looking for it (like one on back of my hand or thumb etc.)

I do have one noticeable scar on the top of my right foot from a butcher knife being dropped on it about 8 or 9 years ago. It is about 2 inches long and the location of some of the stitches can still be seen.

The thre eon my right ankle from surgery, one on the tip of my right middle finger from a knife when I was 9, one on my right forearm from the dog

I have a few on my left foot all from incidents when I was young.

One Xmas day my older brother got a three wheeler motorbike. I was riding on the back. Some stray wire wrapped around my foot and the wheel axle or something. I went over and was dragged a bit as I was still attached to the bike by the wire. I've only got a scar right across the top of the foot from that.

No joke the following Xmas I was walking in some water in a river. Glass from a broken bottle sliced through my heel. Took months to fully heal.

A few years later I was chopping wood and the axe slipped. I didn't feel anything so I was about to continue on chopping until I looked down. A gash right between my big toe and the next. It didn't bleed for about ten minutes so you could see the flesh inside. I thought it was cool until it started to bleed. Then it didn't stop.

I seriously wondered why my left foot was cursed.

I have a couple more but not many people notice them anymore.Those that do notice them, usually have the same ones and a similiar story.If you know what I mean.:(

At first I assumed you meant circumcision, because I also have one of those annoying scars going around the entire penis. But then I suppose uncut guys would also be able to pick up on that so now I don't get it.

1, palm of right hand {slit wrist by mistake}
2.left knee{moped accident in high school}
3, right wrist {fell into rose bush as a wee tot}

I had to stop reading about 1/3 of the way through because the descriptions of all the injuries were making me woozy. see why I'm not an M.D.?

...speaking of woozy/passing out, my favorite scar cuts through my right eyebrow, from when I passed out when I was standing up after an injury. hit the linoleum and cracked my head good. Ouch.

Now, if I'm bleeding or hurt, I just sit down.

Golly, we're an accident-prone bunch!

I only have one visible scar from an accident, on my left big toe where I was walking through my mother's (incredibly messy) house and not lifting my feet as one should in such a mess, and slid my foot under a thin brass facing from the front of some appliance or other, slicing the skin nearly off. Fortunately I'd already had first-aid training in Boy Scouts and knew what to do, I had myself washed and iodined and bandaged and back in bed in a trice.

There are two from surgery, one on my groin from a hyrdrocele procedure when I was 2, and one under my chin from having an infected lymph node removed when I was fifteen; the latter bugs the hell out of me, since they cut through the muscle as well as the skin, so the underside of my chin sags.

The one that bothers me most, though, is a large pock-mark (like an inch across) where scabies nested under my skin in a big cyst. Just looking at it gives me the willies, sometimes.

One on the inside of my thigh, from above my knee cap to my groin.

When I began crawling my aunt had left a hot iron on the floor after using it, I managed to knock it over and it landed on my leg. The scar is very faint but its big and can be seen when I have a suntan. Used to have one really small one under each knee cap, almost in the same place, from separate accidents.

I also have some on my hands, one from school when I stupidly rubbed an eraser on my hand for 99 seconds (hence it was called a 99'er). One from washing a glass that broke in two and sliced my knuckle. Also got a couple of little ones from when I worked in a restauraunt, burns.

Got one next to my eyebrow which is quite small but affects the growth of my eyebrow, funnily I don't know how I got it.

I think thats about it! (!)(!)

I have one on my index finger with my hand hit a piece of sharp wood too hard. It's deep to the point that I should have gotten stitches, but I did not and I let it heal on its own. I have another on the side of my foot where I had flip-flops when I was about seven years old and I cannot remember how, but I ended up walking through glass trying to empty the garbage.

^^^I also forgot my most obvious scar, too. If you've ever seen the singer Mary J. Blige, I have a scar just like hers; it's in the same place, it has the same or similar depth, and it's similar in width.

I have a few, but the strangest is on my left middle finger. In junior high, a friend accidentally stabbed me with a pencil, and I still have a little grey dot where the point went in.

I also have a spot on my right eyebrow where no hair grows. That's actually the result of two accidents. One summer I slipped in the bathtub and banged my eye on the soapdish. Then a few months later I was running home from the bus stop to watch Thundercats (the bus was running a bit late that day), and I ran right into a telephone pole.

Did you knock over the telephone pole? or was that the pole down there, if you know what I mean? :lol:
Lord, no. The pole knocked ME down. I fell right on my ass.

The worst part is, I missed most of Thundercats, and it was one of my favorite episodes.

I've got three scars worth mentioning...

The first one is above my left eye where my sister tried to shish-kabob me with her umbrella. It's a long story, but I was being a little shit. :rolleyes:

The second is on my left index finger. I managed to have my hand in the wrong place when Dad was backing up to the horse trailer. :(

The third is over a foot long and runs along my left bottom rib. A little keepsake from surgery when I lost my left kidney to cancer.

Hmmmm... all of these are on the left side of my body... WTF???

:confused:

Several across my right palm and wrist where a boat prop cut my hand off and the subsequent reconstructive surgery.

A small scar on my left knee and foot from when my dog ran over me with my own car...don't ask.

One on my right shoulder where the broken end of a falling florescent tube sliced into it.

One on my foot, hand, and above my eyebrow - all due to childhood injuries. Also and appendix scar on my stomach

I have a large S shaped scar on the top/back of my head from surgery I had when I was three. I find a way to cover it up with my shaggy hair and it's like it's not there... til I go swimming or it rains or something.

I have a large scar down the outside of my right thigh. Had an accident involving a tree, in which a branch snapped off and went straight through my leg.

I have two that start on my forehead above my right eye and goes down into my right eyebrow that I got from a dog when I was a little kid. One's about an inch, the other half that. As I got older they got thinner in appearance so it's not as easy to see them now, unless the light is hitting my face just right, or if my face is flushed.

I have another small thin one on the underside of my wrist that I got when my cat decided to use my arm as a scratching/biting post.

I also have scars on my legs, and a couple on my face, from when I had chickenpox as a kid.
