Do you know how much you're spending a week?

I seriously have no idea, I can't keep track of what I spend or how much I spend for a week. I have several receipts at my table and I hate to do the balance thing...not that I dont want to do it, I really dont want to look at my account balance #-o

Thanks God I dont have any credit card.

Being in denial of your financial situation won't help it. Face it head on and get yourself set up on Quicken or MSN Money. Just enter your financial transactions and in a month or 2 you can run a report that will tell you exactly where your money is going. I bet you'd be surprised at how much you spend on things that are not really that important. Go to your local library and check out Suze Orman's book "9 Steps To Financial Freedom". It will help you a lot. Money isn't the real issue. Our finances are symptoms and results of something within us. You can take charge of your finances and not live in dread and fear about them. Good luck. I'm rooting for you.

I spend more than I earn, I just close me eyes when i open the bank statements.

Hey Thanks, Andyspete. I don't think I have a financial problem, I'm only spend of what I have in my bank. I put 60% of what I earn to saving account and 40% to my checking...I'm only spend my from the checking account. Seems like I exceeded that 40% of what I put in, I like Nonimus said, I spend more than I earn :-(

I'm gonna to ask the bank to send you one in braille.

I spend my working week looking at other peoples money - so when it comes to my own I'm really rubbish. I only look when I know its going to be good, which isn't often now I' a home owner!

Not really because one week is not my way at looking at expenses. But I know how much I spend per month, and keep a tight rein on it. And I avoid as much as I can using plastic !

i dont know!im trying to save my money but i end up with no money at all!
i spend it for cd's!

I follow a budget and try to keep everything organized. I always know how much money I have. I'm careful about every purchase I make. I've turned down buying things I wanted because it didn't fit my budget. Credit cards are fine if you keep them paid off. Some people treat credit cards like free money and run up an enormous bill.

It varies a bit from week to week, but I have a fair idea of the average.

I've never budgeted, ever.
I've never balanced my checking account, although I do scroll through the activity once a week online.
I've been lucky enough to make enough to where I don't really need to worry about things too much.
One thing is I spend way too much on going out to eat, like about $800/month

Well pretty much i cash a paycheck every week and then i spend the money and a week later i do the same thing..

I might as well be a corporation. I create an annual budget prior to the year (2007 is already done) and have every pay date listed. I know exactly how much I will spend and save for the entire year. It works well for me

rent is what i spend the most on and i know what that is. i do keep a track of my bank balance to make sure i'm not spending too much. I know pretty much what i'm spending each week.

I don't keep close track of it because it just depresses me

I'm very low maintenance and know exactly what I spend. I keep 2 accounts one is high interest savings and the other current. I keep almost all in savings. My mooring fees are £20 a week food about £10 energy £20 (gas, electricity and oil) I don't run a car so that is a big saving. If I could develop an allergy to beer I could be rich by now!
