I sometimes watch gay porn at work. I did not know that they have some programs to track user activity. A friend of mine gave me this video about anonymous surfing:

Seems interesting.

and keyloggers to track your EVERY move........so if you are on their payroll and using their equipment.....

I'm a new car salesperson for a import manufacturer. My company knows every site we visit. In fact someone in the service department was watching porn and now they have installed a webblock program that doesn't allow us to visit any site that isn't car related.

Becareful using that program your friend gave you. Most programs run through a proxy site causing an "untracable" path. However, nothing is untracable and at my job they will fire anyone using a proxy!

Might want to think about not looking at porn for 8 hours out of the day? just a thought...

Well, maybe you should work at work, and watch porn at home. I'm just sayin'

ummm yeah. why would you watch porn at work in the first place? come on bro, your makin us all look bad.

I sometimes watch porn at work.. I think it is ok.

Really? I'm surprised at this. Most companies have some sort of "electronic resource usage" policy they disclose when you join that you have to adhere to (or sign agreement to) about how it's company property, web destinations can be and are monitored and logged, it's for company business, etc. The culture of companies can be so different, though, that many only enforce it to varying degrees and I've heard some mention they don't really care if you check your personal webmail or hit a few other sites as a break, as long as you're getting your stuff done.

But to me porn is really pushing it, and pushing their leniency or generosity about g-rated standard surfing - do you really want to be perusing it on company time? I mean, I'm sure you could justify hitting up the transit schedule website to plan your ride home or something, but watching "Cum-filled Twink Assholes #7" on the company dime?

I have a friend who is fired of his work because of watching porn.

I think companies should have no right to monitor employees' communication.

What you guys think?

Think about it from the other way.

If you hired someone to do some work for you, would you want to pay them to watch porn?

Furthermore, there are other ramifications to looking at porn at work. If you're displaying objectionable material on your monitor, and another employee sees it and gets offended, they have a reasonable case for harassment.

At least in the US keylogging software is not allowed without the users knowledge. Even then, many states outlaw it because it can collect sensitive information.

I'm surprised his work doesn't just block the sites.

Would I like to watch porn at work? Sure. However, it's the company's equipment and not yours. If you don't care about possibly getting fired, then go ahead and continue to watch porn.

I did it once when I was in high school at job for the county, but then it was just stories that I had on a floppy and I was the only one on that floor of the building.

I don't know how they could possibly know since I have never done it either at work or at school.

I personally know of at least 3 people who were FIRED for keeping nude pics on their computer at work -
(one of them was GAY pics)

One guy - received a incoming e-mail of a nudeSanta in only a santa hat -
he was in the clear - because it was sent to him - he didnt go to a website and open it - but the others were downright stupid - it can never be right to do at work - unless you work for an extremely progressive SMALL company - where the owner is a douchebag who doesn't give a rats ass - but even that kinda person can turn on yu - and use it against you when it's convenient.

One woman was using her laptop AT HOME on her VACATION -- to do some work for free for the company -
she took a break to go to the store - she told her 12 year old kid - DON'T TOUCH MY COMPUTER - she left it on and logged in --
when she came back to work on Monday morning - there were security guards and HR at the front door There to FIRE HER -
while she was at the store -and unknown to her - her son looked up some sites looking for nekked women and he found some !!

she was fired for PORN - and when she explained that her son did it against her specific instructions not to touch hercommpany computer - they said tuff shit - you failed to protect company resources --
and so went her $80,000K a year job ! i would have had to seriously harm the kid for that - how do you make up for that bullshit?

MOST COMPANIES ARE HEARTLESS - AND have a HUGE ZERO TOLERENCE FOR THAT KINDA STUFF !

so don't do it - unless you don't give a shit about your job - but that's a helluva a way to be walked out the door - and believe me - everybody will hear about it too !!
